I'm a big Marvel fan when it come to the regular movies such as Ironman, Thor Captain America, and the Avengers, but not so much for the others. A friend told me to watch, and the fact that Benedict Cumberbatch,Rachel McAdams and Chiwetel Ejiofor are in it I thought I would give it a shot. I was really surprised how good it was. My only mistake was that I didn't buy it in 3-D. The special effects are amazing.

Dr. Strange was a fun Marvel Movie. What I liked most about it was that it setup a lot of future possibilities for the Marvel Cinematic Universe wrt different dimensions, realities, and planes. That said, there was a lot of fuss made about this movie allowing Marvel to use a new visual language to tell the story of Magic in the MCU and it turns out to be nothing more than a variation of Inception by Nolan :( Marvel has been a trendsetter for almost all movies up til this point and it was very disappointing to see them copy Nolan for Dr. Strange. That's the only reason I give this a 4 vs 5 stars. Otherwise, it has all the fun popcorn and quirkiness of Marvel movies. Enjoy!

The 4k version of Doctor Strange is a feast to the eyes. The HDR brings out all the nice colors and blacks. A typical origin story but visually stunning. Audio is average to good depending on what kind of sound system you have. If you're like me and have to have all the info to you movies, you know what to do. This is one you should not skip.

Oft times, comic book movies infuriate (OK, X-Men & DC comic book movies) those who watch their beloved characters get reinvented because some director gets free reign to mess with traditional canon (Snyder and Singer - are you listening?!). Dr Strange is perfect with the exception of two nit picky things not even worth mentioning (wait I just mentioned two nit picky things, didn't I?) IT'S STILL PERFECT!!!

This came pretty close. I don't think I have enjoyed a Marvel Cinematic Universe this much since the first Iron Man. Don't get me wrong, I love the MCU as much as any other Marvel fan, but Doctor Strange was a game changer. With effects reminiscent of Inception, a wonderful story of redemption, and the promise that this is just the beginning for Dr. Strange, you really can't expect anything but greatness.

This movie has cool visual effects, let's get that obvious fact out of the way. It's a fun introduction to the dreamworld of magic that now exists in the Marvel Movie Universe. Benedict Cumberbatch is a good doctor but I think Chiwetel Ejiofor has the most potential. I hope he is not used as a simple set up villain that is just destroyed by Thanos after his aid in all things evil. I think Cumberbatch was a good casting choice, but mostly for how he will act around people like Loki or Ironman. Really looking forward to how he progresses after the fact, yes this movie was a lot of setup for the next movies to come, but Marvel did a heck of job for seemingly rushing it.

Doctor Strange follows the Marvel movie formula but that isn't a bad thing! They know what they are doing and they do it so well. This movie is about a doctor who is searching for a cure and ends up discovering the mystic world of magic and the people who use it to defend the Earth against evil mystics that intend to open a portal to end the world. He learns to harness new powers to fight these people and become the ultimate sorcerer supreme while leaning to not be a selfish jerk. With some great effects and humor and action that Marvel always provides, this is recommended to everyone that enjoys a fun action adventure movie or just the Marvel Universe in general.

This movie introduces a new and important character in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Doctor Strange. Benedict Cumberbatch portays Doctor Strange perfectly. This movie blew me away with all the wizardry, spells and magic. A must have!

Great Blu-Ray. With my equipment I was able to upgrade resolution to 4K quality and colors were sparkling and the video, including motion scenes was crystal clear. The audio too was great. I listened to it in my 9.2 set up and the use of side and rear surrounds was just right, not too much like a lot of movies. If you want an exciting movie that will keep you on the edge of your seat then try this one.

After seeing this in 2D in the theater I knew I'd be getting the 3D set the day it was out. Even though this was the featured titled for the Disney Movie Club, I decided to buy from Best Buy because of the added bonus of points for rewards. As soon as it came in the mail, the day before it was in stores, I watched it in 3D and loved it. I definitely recommend any MCU fan get it if they haven't already.

Benedict Cumberbatch does an excellent job in the role of Dr. Strange and the story is good so my main complaint is the ratio of audience education of the character vs. fighting the evil. It's split 70/30 which is to much development. I'm not a follower of Marvel comics and it was too long for my tastes. A 50/50 balance would have been more to my liking. Still a good movie and well worth the purchase.

Quite a bit different than the normal Marvel fare, this one explored some spiritual sides and some wicked special effects. I was not expecting a great storyline, nor expecting to enjoy Crimpyback Hopskipjump, or whatever his name is :), as much as I did. Different from the comics, but all the movies are, and this still kept in enjoyable and opened a whole new realm into the Marvel 'verse. Well done!

Marvel keeps knocking it out of the park with their MCU films, and while I didn't know anything about the character before going to this movie I really enjoyed Doctor Strange. It was so good I saw it twice in the theater and bought the Bluray upon release day. Creative and cool action scenes, and some humor sprinkled in. The 3D looks amazing, too. This is really one of the best movies to watch in 3D.

I liked the folding of the world graphics that occur and wish it went a bit more at times but the new Dimensional shifting type powers is nice to see and will be very interesting to see how Dr. Strange helps out in the other Marvel movies. Can't wait to see how big a roll he gets in Thor: Ragnarok movie. Benedict Cumberbatch does a good job and hopefully he can be included in many more Marvel movies.

This is an excellent movie if you are a big Marvel fan. I didn't get an opportunity to see this movie at the theater, which I think would have been a much fuller experience. I picked up the Blu-ray version of the movie and it was excellent purchase. The visual effects were stunning! As the Summary title suggests, this is a great addition to the Marvel family of movies and a must have for Marvel fans.

A great addition to the Marvel movie universe. Close enough to the comics to please an old fan, especially the world bending special effects. Add a spectacular cast of renowned actors and you have a movie well worth seeing. The SteelBook packaging gives a collectible feel to the movie. It gives me a reason to buy a physical copy, in this time when you can get the movie digitally, usually sooner.

As a fan of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, I've bought all the past releases regardless of how I've liked the movies and this is no different. I found Doctor Strange to be a very subpar movie, but the 3D collectors edition comes packed with interesting extras and Best Buy offers it at a great price. I would recommend this on 3D for the special effects and the special features, but that's about it.

Once again, Marvel Studios delivers a beauty. First off, the SteelBook is cleverly designed after The Book of Cagliostro and the Eye of Agamotto, with even the interior art imprinted with pages seen from the movie. As for the movie itself, 3D is definitely the way to go if possible; lending true substance to some of the most vivid and imaginative special effects Marvel Studios continues to conjure.

First, I give it 5 Stars within its genre. This is not Citizen Kane, but a Marvel Comic. However, it can be thought-provoking in a addition to just action. Wonderful acting and special effects and although it is an origin episode, it doesn't feel rushed like they normally do. This is probably one of the 2-3 best movies based on a super hero character ever made. Witty, fast paced, and entertaining.

I wasn't entirely sure what to expect walking into this movie - given that it's such uncharted territory for Marvel, I didn't want to get my hopes too high up. Scott Derrickson made a fantastic movie that stands out as something so unique from the rest of the MCU. While the villian may not have been the best (a common Marvel issue), the cast was great and the movie had some amazing set pieces.
