I have seen many super hero movies. All, until now, featured my favorites from my "comic book" days. However, I was never a fan of Doctor Strange. In fact, I may never have read those comics. So, I was surprised how good this was. Great special effects, good acting, and it had a depth to it. A touch of humor helped a lot, too. In sum, for you are looking for top notch entertainment, this is it.

Don't overlook this movie, if you aren't familiar with Dr Strange. This is a great introduction into one of marvel's most interesting characters. Benedict Cumberbatch does a great job of mixing humor and arrogance, to create another character that I think people will love. If you like marvel movies, I suggest getting to know him now, because I'm sure we'll see more of him, in crossover films

I love buying movies and reselling them if after I watch them they aren't my favorite so Best Buy Steelbooks are the best way to add value to resale plus if I keep it they look great on display. I just wish they weren't charging such a premium to get them, back in the day they were the same price as the regular release now you are paying a $5-$10 up charge just for the case. Oh well so is life.

This movie is very good, and is typical of the Marvel movies. You get a short backstory, introduction to the characters motivations, the character starts to excel at what he's trying to do, something bad happens, the character gets beaten, and then the character wins. Stephanie Cumbersnatch does a great job at portraying Doctor Strange, the writing is pretty good, and the ending is amazing.

Dr. Strange, a brilliant neurosurgeon (excellently portrayed by Benedict Cumberbatch), loses the use of his hands after a car accident. Conventional medicine fails to restore the use of his hands so Dr. Strange seeks spiritual healing and training in Nepal where he puts his skills to work towards fighting world domination by evil powers. The kaleidoscope graphics are brilliantly transfixing.

Well it's Dr Strange. Another great Marvel movie for an long time but usually treated as a secondary tier character. His origin differs slightly than the comic an I still can't get over Tilda Swinton as the Ancient One.but it is a great movie and Benedict Cumberbatch is a great Dr Strange. This movie leads into Thor: Ragnarok coming out later this year and next year's Avengers: Infinity War.

Chances are you've seen this movie if you're looking at this review. I'll focus on the content instead a review of the film. Blu-ray picture and sound are top-notch. There are an ok amount of special features for this film. Some good cast interviews and behind-the-scenes footage. Commentary with the director is lackluster as the director tends to be more self-congratulatory and often does not address the movie your watching. Great Thor short that made me laugh more than the film. Excluding the commentary, most of the special features can be finished in an hour. Minus one star because Marvel should always do more in this area. Overall a good buy!

I was a little frightened how this subject would play out on the screen, granted Marvel movies have stretched the imagination and made you wonder...but Strange takes it to a whole new plane (literally) as Marvel went above and beyond. The only thing that doesn't play well is Cumberbatch's accent (great voice for all things set in Great Britain, but just doesn't quite seem right in America).

Dr Strange is an origin story introducing a new superhero into the Marvel Universe. It also is an introduction into the multi-dimensional side of the Marvel Universe which will no doubt come into play in the upcoming Infinity War. The movie is unlike any other Marvel origin story as it's enhanced by its trippy visuals. The collector's steelbook is also a cool addition to your collection.

I really didn't know anything about Doctor Strange going into it, but like Ant-Man, Marvel didn't disappoint with its temporary detour from the main Avengers story arc. Doctor Strange is a little different, maybe even a little odd, but it was a great film with plenty of action and top notch acting. Excited to see the character again when he's inevitably thrown into the battle against Thanos.

Another Marvel classic comic book hero distributed through Disney. A brilliant surgeon whose hands are damaged in a car accident finds more than a cure when he finds the mystical arts and becomes a powerful sorcerer, which sends him on a new career in battling the dark forces bent on destruction. Great special effects with lots of bonus extras on the Blu-ray. Another triumph for Benedict!

Great movie. I never did get heavily into the comic book era. I dabbled into it from time to time but nothing more. If you're really into the Marvel series this is a must watch. Very impressed with the new take on this characters abilities and the battle scenes. FINALLY a different style from the common Spider-Man re-make after re-makes, Batman's, etc. Visually appealing, great story line.

Another great installment from Marvel!! The casting of Benedict Cumberbatch as Dr Strange is perfect! Visually stunning film as well as the humor we've come to know from these films. The 3D effects are absolutely beautiful. The Best Buy exclusive is fantastic as well. Very unique packaging. This is a must own!!

I enjoyed this film for several reasons: the dialogue and protagonist character interactions were great. The effects were impressive visually as well and the sound and accompanying score. Per usual the humor was great too. The only real downside was the antagonist character. While acted well, the plot could have done more for him to drive the story and really allow a nasty character to be seen. Story aside, Marvel does a great job with the audio and video presentation on Blu-ray. Anyone with a capable system will really appreciate the thought in creating them. This is a solid movie that will please many and is family friendly as well.

I went to watch this movie twice in one weekend and I was extremely impressed with how much better it was than I was expecting it to be. That being said, I was not given the chance to see it in 3D in theaters, so once I saw this bundle get announced I knew I had to pounce on it. It is a bit pricey, but it is by far my favorite steelbook case and the movie is a great addition to the MCU!

I was not familiar with the story behind this character prior to watching this movie. The movie gives enough background story to get a good understanding of the character as well as a lot of setup information about the overall story. I enjoyed this movie much more than I had expected to, and I highly recommend it to others. It is definitely one that I will watch more than once.

I have been a fan of this Marvel Character since I was a young kid. I didn't get to see this movie in theater's, so I bought this version with the DVD, Blu Ray, 3d Blu Ray, and Digital HD combo to take advantage of the various ways to watch the movie. Well worth the cost for such a great amount of variety, hands down the best deal I could find. Plus you get Disney Movie Rewards as wel.

I had missed this one because Dr. Strange is not my fav character as he's arrogant in a meaner way than most of the other characters. I picked this up on a whim and I'm glad I did because it was really good and thought provoking, and a missing piece we may need for the upcoming movies. It was a little dizzying at times in an Escher sort of way, but I highly recommend.

This movie is the perfect introduction to the mystical side of the Marvel Comics Universe. It's not too outlandish, yet contains enough magic to whet your appetite for more of the "strange". The star-studded cast delivers and the well-written dialogue moves the story along. The visual effects are stunning, as would be expected from a Marvel entry. Check out the exclusive extras also.

I thoroughly enjoyed the movie. The special effects were insane. I wasn't sure what to expect since it didn't have the budget of some of the other MCU flicks but they didn't seem to cut many corners. At some points it seemed like it might've been missing a little something but wasn't sure of what that "something" might be. That wasn't enough to warrant a 4 star review in my opinion.
