started with comics then, have most dr. strange movies

This comic was new to me; and it is quite a departure from the rest of the Marvel Universe. The concept of his powers and the special effects took me a bit to wrap my head around, but the second time through I was up-to-speed! Am looking forward to his adventures, though Mordo will be a pretty intense villain (He is a zealot; he believes he has a righteous cause. And therefore he will commit inconceivable crimes in the name of his belief). On a cheerier note, -can't wait for the Thor crossover!

Love this movie it is an unusual super hero movie in that it goes between reality and an alternate version on the same reality that surroundings can be manipulated. Benedict Cumberbatch is the perfect actor for the role and you will feel that he is Doctor Strange after you watch it much as I felt like he is Sherlock Holmes when he plays that part. Cinematically the movie is outstanding a feast visually. Saw it in the theater once and watch on dvd as soon as it arrived and will watch again soon.

I wasn't expecting a lot from the movie, but was pleasantly surprised. I enjoyed it more than some of the other "super hero" movies. While CGI seems to dominate most of the super hero movies, it doesn't in this movie, though there is a lot of it. The 3D is awesome, especially during some of the "psychedelic" scenes. I never expected that Benedict Cumberbatch could pull off such a role, but he played the role perfectly. It doesn't surprise me that the movie is rated at 87 on Rotten Tomatoes.

This might be my favorite of the Marvel Movies up there with Captain America-the Winter Soldier and Civil War. The "eye-opening" sequences and especially the showdown with the cosmic bad guy at the end are visually straight out of Marvel's late-silver age Kirby/Steranko heyday. I am also very glad that Marvel is diversifying things up a bit with T'Challa (The Black Panther), Gomorrah and Mordo. All great actors in their own right, and I can't wait to see them all together in The Infinity War.

movie was good got to be a comic book fan to understand

I know Civil War officially started phase 3 for the MCU. And Civil War was just mind-blowingly awesome. But Doctor Strange is the first movie that starts to take us away from the original MCU characters and start us down the path the really fall in love with heroes that aren't Iron Man and Captain America. Truly just a visually stunning movie and who doesn't like Benedict Cumberbatch? My wife enjoyed this movie a lot and that is saying something because she rarely enjoys these kinds of films.

It was better on my big screen than at the movies.

Great special effects. Story line was little confusing.

Not a graphic novel freak or one who knows all the characters in the Marvel universe, but we really enjoyed this latest installment. Eagerly awaiting the big free-for-all when all the various characters get together again. We love Cumberbatch in Sherlock and just about everything else he does, and he does play "arrogant" much better than just about any other actor I can think of. Suspend your sense of reality and just go with the flow. It is like Inception on magical mushrooms (from Nepal)

Great upgrade over the Blu-ray. I think the picture is sharper with more depth with the 4k over the Blu-ray. The image stands out more and the HDR makes this look like its coming out of the screen. Sound is another great upgrade as well it filled the room like it was coming from all directions. Disney 4ks are pricy so grab this on a good discount you will not be disappointed.

This is a fantastic movie. Marvel has done it again. From the get go, this movie is amazing to watch. It feels very 70's at times, which is appropriate for when Dr. Strange was best written. This movie feels like it could be the start of a new generation of Marvel heroes. I would like to say that the 3D version wasn't quite as good as I had hoped. Being told constantly that I needed to see it this way may have hyped it up too much. However, the visual effects couldn't be better. AMAZING!

An unusual story with a great mystical component to it

This movie is yet another brilliant chapter delivered by the Marvel empire. I missed seeing the film in theater but with Blu-ray it's just as good. The story, special effects, and characters had us laughing and on the edge of our seats the whole time. It doesn't take long for this film to get moving and once it does, hold on, it never stops! Benedict is brilliant as Doctor Strange and I cannot wait to see him again! This is a must have for anyone who considers themselves a fan of Marvel!

This is the story of a surgeon that for strange reasons decides that his life is worthless because he can't continue to make a living by the use of his hands. He's driven to succeed in a different area of expertise giving a new meaning to his current existence.
