Would have given this 5 stars but the odor that comes from the inside after it sits for a few days is awful! Tried running multiple tablets of Affresh through it over several weeks but no change. First dishwasher ever to do this.

Mechanically sound, no breakdowns. A bit loud but not super loud, better than most. The real problem is the design of the upper arm and its water feed. It has a plastic piece that gets loose and leaves gaps and regularly sucks food bits into it. And the upper arm does not come apart, it is one solid metal piece other than the attachment to the water feed. So once food bits are in, they are nearly impossible to get out without hours of work. The food bits clog the arm and nothing in the top rack gets properly cleaned. Not recommended.

The dishwasher works well, the main problem I have with the dishwasher is that the dishes don't dry very well. We turn on the heat drying feature, but when the dishes are done they are still dripping wet.

I've now had this things for 2 1/2 years. I can't tell you how many times we've had to re-run the machine because dishes didn't clean the first time. Worse, I'd say a few times a month we have to empty the machine and then hand wash. Oh, this was a replacement, because the first one had a seal issue. So two bad machines, same model. Stay away.

excellent cleaning but far too short inside

After a few weeks of using this dishwasher, I have to say I am overall happy with it. The installation was smooth, it runs so quietly you can barely hear it, everything has come out clean. The controls are easy to use and it has just the right amount of options for whatever you would need. There are a few things about this that make me take off a star on the rating. First is that the soap cup already doesn't want to close; it takes a few tries, and I'm fully expecting to have to replace it soon even though the unit is just under a month old. Second and more vexing is that the shelving on both top and bottom is lower/shorter than I need for a lot of my dishes, and it's causing problems. Several spatulas and other cooking utensils need to be placed in the holder sideways or else they'll block the top sprayer when it spins. I can't get the taller tumblers or pot lids to fit on the top rack at all. In fact, the varying width of the top racks makes the narrow far left rack almost useless, as nothing fits in it. Meanwhile, the placement of the prongs on the right side of the rack make it difficult to place cups properly. One coffee mug got chipped because it moved around, thanks to being too short to fit over the prongs, yet too wide to fit on the left side shelving where it would have been safer. The biggest issue is that having to lay things down or use extra space to fit everything means the loads are smaller, and I have to run dishes more often. When a load takes over 3 hours (normal cycle, hot wash, no heated dry) it's really inconvenient to have to run it twice in one day. As much as I like this unit, for the price point I would have expected just a little bit more as far as interior space management goes.

    Great dishwasher

This dishwasher cleans all dishes, pots, pans, glasses, silverware, etc., amazingly well. It's quiet when it runs, almost to the point where I wasn't sure at first if it was running. The buttons are easy to understand. It isn't complicated at all. There's a timer on the front to let you know how long the cycle will run and it counts down as it runs. So far, I am very satisfied with this purchase.

I wished I would’ve repaired my old dishwasher as it is far superior to the new one. I purchased the model with the micro grinder and I must say it was a complete ripoff.

We needed to replace a 2005 Kenmore that was already in the house. It was fine for its time but not performing as well recently. Also noise standards are now way better. Our household uses pots and pans heavily and the cooking is Asian Indian so utensils are spice-laden. Not easy to get clean kitchenware out, needless to say. And it needs to run once a day certainly and once in a week perhaps twice... Shopped for black unit for matching with others appliances. Our other appliances are also Maytag, btw. We have had this for less than a week, used it about 5 times so far. Each time, the output was flawless. Clean clean utensils, plates and silverware etc. (about 70% stainless steel, and 20% coffee mugs by volume). This was not even the powerwash cycle, just the normal one. This unit is quiet and looks classy. Overall outstanding unit. Proud of Maytag's performance (I know it is really a Whirlpool, but still made in the USA. Also standards have been kept high and is marketed between the Whirlpool and KitchenAid. And it is QUIET. The one neative is it fits slightly less stuff than the older Kenmore we replaced, but that OK, It is 5-10% loss in volume I think due to the silverware basket extending to the full length of the lower tray. In the Kenmore until it was perhaps about 3/4 length. Note to the Manufacturer. Please consider designing units for Asian kitchens if markets allow it. The technology is perhaps already there as is evident, it is mostly redesign of the interior trays to accommodate the utensils. The design of tines need to be re-looked at. I know it is out of place, but interestingly I was looking at the GEs as well, and came to know they are really the Chinese Haier now (starting 2016) and are allowed to use the GE logo until 2040. Avoid like the plague! Bad on GE. Finally, a note on Best Buys service. Overall they were fantastic on price (with "My Offer" I had an addl discount, NICE!). Second their service has really good, the Geek Squad guy that installed the unit was super. (Would have installed it myself, but I got enough discount that I could pay for the installation and stay within budget. Only gripe was I had to be on hold nearly 95 minutes to adjust my order. Will forgive it!!! Great job from BB overall - sales, availability and service. Plus on time too. Excellent!

Lasted 26 months and doesn’t clean anymore. Think pump is broken water doesn’t circulate inside machine and doesn’t wash dishes or move soap out of dispenser. Was supposed to be a descent quality when purchased.

    The features I wanted

Pros: I like the features on this model, it has what I was looking for but not a bunch of stuff I'd never use. I like the delay start, the quick wash, the ability to turn the heated dry on/off regardless of the cycle, etc. Stainless steel tub and 10 year warranty. Display showing how much time is left on the cycle. Cons: I wish the top rack was adjustable (it's shallow - even a regular pint glass has to be in the deep side of the rack to fit), I wish the front was more smudge resistant, and the display wasn't amber color. But they are not big issues. Been using it a month now. Overall it's been working great and dishes seem cleaner than my last washer (a Samsung that only lasted 6 years.)

The 1st one we received had a leak in the tub. The second one was fine. Cleans well and is quieter than expected. The only issue is the smell when it sits idle. This has been a problem from day one. Wash dishes, empty the dishwasher, close the door and when you come back a day or two later it stinks like rotting food. Never had this happen with any other dishwasher. Running a quick rinse helps a little.
