Ice maker is WORTHLESS

Maytag advised me to lower freezer temperature from the pre set -3 degrees to 0 degrees. Give it 24-48 hours then stock it up. Said it was too cold and needed food in it to help maintain the correct temperature. I filled it with food after the frost/ice crystals was gone. The ice MAY have affected the light bulb in the freezer because it does not come on when freezer door is open. I have a reference # and will call to see if perhaps the ice caused the light bulb to go out OR is it a malfunction. Was very satisfied with Previous Maytag, this is why I bought another one. Afraid they don’t make things like they used to make them.
