    This virus protection did not work with my operating system. when I tried to have them fix it they said my system was fully protected but I could never see it doing scans it did not give me any confidence

      I'm sorry you have had this experience. What operating system are you using and what makes you feel McAfee doesn't work with it? We validate on Windows 10, 8.1, 8, and 7 (SP1), on Mac OS and iOS current release plus 2 previous, and Android 4.1 or higher. We don't show the scans happening when they do as most people feel that is an intrusion. Note that you can start a scan any time you like or shcedule automatic scans on a regular basis. But you can see what activity has occured by opening the software and clicking on the "My Info" tab. Then click on the "See Security History" block and you can filter your view of what McAfee has done from just the last 24 hours to All Time. I see you mentioned you contacted us. It doesn't sound like they tried to sell you anything further, so I'm pretty certain you reached us properly, however just to be sure, our support can be reached at service.mcafee.com or 866-622-3911.     This product sucked after I had to update to latest Mac OS. It did not make for an easy reinstallation. It should have been as easy as hitting an update button on the McAfee log in page. It just would have made a lot of sense.

      I'm sorry your update experience was not as easy as expected. I hope you understand that to have an update button from McAfee for a Mac OS upgrade would be difficult for McAfee to properly maintain as Apple has the ability to change their process at any time without consulting McAfee. While I agree it would be nice for consumers if such a thing was feasible, it isn't very feasible without Apple and McAfee being the same company.     interface constantly trying to upgrade you. Also, auto-renewal with a credit card on file is required with this purchase - not mentioned at purchase, but found in very small print on box.. My kids point out that there is plenty of free good protection elsewhere.

      I'm sorry about the pop-up messages. We do our best to balance between informing you of ways we can better protect you and not being too intrusive, but we sometimes go too far. Our auto-renewal screens are confusing and I'm working on getting those improved. There is no button to decline, but it actually isn't required that you enroll in auto-renewal. You can click on the X in the upper right to skip that step. It sounds like you have already enrolled, but you can also cancel at any time. In your account screen, if you click on the Account Settings drop-down menu and then choose Auto-Renewal Settings, there is an option to turn it off. I would caution you against free protection because they just don't have the resources to keep up with the blinding pace at which malware is being developed.     When I had an issue with use of this protection, I called the 800 tech line. They said my firewall was not protected and they could fix it for $199. No issues with firewall. Just trying to take advantage of there own customers.

      I'm sorry you had that experience, but it sounds like you contacted someone other than McAfee. Our service department can be reached at service.mcafee.com or 866-622-3911. We are ready to help 24/7 and it is always free. Our product includes a firewall, so no one from McAfee would tell you that your firewall is not protected - I'm not even sure what that means as the firewall is doing the protection - you don't need to protect your firewall.     Had to search on-line to confirm that you must enter a credit card to renew to install software. Did not want to do this. Returned item to store.

    I’ve had this license for a year and I’ve had a virus slip through unfortunately. I wouldn’t recommend this product especially at how much this product costed me. I would recommend malware bytes 100%

      I'm sorry that you had that experience. No virus protection can protect you 100% of the time against viruses. We do everything we can to protect you from known and unknown viruses, but we offer our Virus Protection Pledge to take care of those viruses that do slip through. We will remove any virus that infects your system or give your money back. You do need to be enrolled in auto-renewal to take advantage of that, but you can always cancel at any time, or even have 30 days to get a refund if you are charged before you cancel.     Slowed down Computer Upon Installation

    Slowed down my computer upon installation. Could not run software's needed for school due to how much of the Disk this was using. McAfee would use 100% Disk space. I could not find ways to fix this problem. So I would not recommend the total protection package, but I did not have the same problem with McAfee LifeSafe. So, I recommend trying using that instead of total protection.

      This is very strange. Total Protection and LiveSafe are the same product just with different names. They used to have a few different features from each other, but now they are the same. Our performance has been awarded as best in class by the major testing houses. I'm afraid you are also confusing disk space with disk utilization. Our file is only about 1GB - so unless you have a very small hard drive, I don't believe we are taking 100% of the disk space. But I could see that disk utilization could peak at 100%, which is likely what is causing your computer performance to tank. There is likely some other issue going on that is causing this to occur. But you can contact our support team, who can remotely connect to your system and determine what is going on. You can reach them 24/7 at service.mcafee.com or 866-622-3911.     Bought his software, I’m not liking it at all l. Even their own tech support have problems doing a proper install, SMH.

      I'm sorry you had a negative experience. We do have call centers all over the world and route to the first available, so it is certainly possible to get someone from another country. I believe Symantec has the same policy, although not certain. What was the issue with the product itself? Maybe I can help? Please let me know if I can do anything for you? (I am in the US).     I grabbed this at a really great price while on sale. Downloading the software was no problem, however I've had an issue with it saying that my annual subscription is about to expire after just one month. This is my first time using McAfee, and I'm already turned off by their product.

    I bought this hoping to secure 5 computers, first time using Mcafee, always purchased Norton for over 10 years with no problem. Big mistake, only worked on 1 computer, could not load on the others, terrible product, no wonder it's offered for free across some platforms, never had a problem with Norton, waste of money, will not purchase again.

      I'm sorry you had this experience. What did you do to try and install onto multiple computers? If you tried entering your download code again, that is likely the issue - it only needs to be entered the first time. To install onto multiple devices, you can either log into your McAfee account from that device and click on "Download" or you can log into your account from anywhere and send an email or text to the device you want to protect. You then access the email/text, click on the link and the download should begin. If there was another issue, our support should be able to help you work through it. It sounds like you have already gone back to Norton, but in case you want to try, you can contact our support team at service.mcafee.com and our support is always free. I do hope you try us again.
