    Wait before buying

I'm not sure when Memorex switched to their current generation DVD+R DL discs but these new ones are not worth buying. I have been using Memorex DL discs since late 2008. Up until around May/June or so of this year I would have said they were excellent. However they switched something and these new ones are useless. If I'm lucky I get a successful burn percentage around 35%. Previously the same burners and software gave me 99.9% success rate and the .01% error was usually mine. I switched to Verbatim DL discs and am back to a 99.9% success rate, still with the same burners and software. I have to conclude that the error is with the disc not my equipment. The disc quality change happened at the same time that Memorex changed the Logo and styling that they put on the physical discs. When I see the old style discs, usually at another store I can't mention, I buy them and have good luck with them. However finding anything other than the new style now is virtually impossible, so stick with the Verbatims.

    Best DVD+R's (when on sale)

Way to expensive at regular price, but they are the only DVD+R I use. When they do go on sale you'll find it was worth the wait. Though the pack of 50 was much more convenient, but I can't find those any more.

I have read a lot of people down rating these DVDs... I am not sure where the problem lies but I have used about 100 of these and getting ready go to buy another pack. I have only had one out of all of those be a bad burn. I was trying to play a game at the same time it was burning so I can not blame the disk for my error.

I make movies and the dual layer gives me lots of space and works better on my blu-ray than regular DVD's.

I can not rate this stuff since I have used only 3 CDs yet. Review of a CD is very hard. Sometime your CD writer is not good and you may blame the wrong stuff

Out of 10 disc's so far only 2 have burned my data files. I use these dual layered dvd's to back up and store data from work. I've used Sony and Verbatim before and they both work very good. These are a complete disappointment. Don't waste your money.

    Stick with Verbatim

Has issues with discs. I have gone throught over 50 verbatim discs and no disc issues. I have just used 6 memorex and only 1 worked correctly. I use a low burn speed and leave the computer alone, still has issues. Stick with verbatim DL.

I agree with the poor reviews. Last time I used Memorex was about 2 years ago and up to that point I had good luck. Two years ago I had so many failed burns I thought the problem was hardware. I replaced my burner because I had previously had good luck with Memorex. After I installed the new burner I tried again and more failed burns. Now, I use verbatim even if the DL is a 2.4x, I would rather burn slow and not have a failed burn, it still saves time by not having to retry over and over. I found a link to a blank DVD quality guide which is obviously a valuable tool here it is: http://www.digitalfaq.com/reviews/dvd-media.htm

    Horrible Product

So I first tried burning a simple Home Video to these disks, failed at 90%. Ok could have been a bad disk, so I tried it again, failed at 91%. Tried to simplify the image a bit so I went with a nice 1 gig home video... failed at 80%. Hadn't used my new burner for DL before so I slapped a disk into my other PC that I had used DL many times before on. Started up another picture disk, low and behold.. failure 90%. Now I have been using Nero this whole time so I figured I should rule out that app. Booted up the Express Burn program.. failed. Roxio EZ cd creator, failed again. Tried several content variations. So I Googled these things, appears your only chance(a very low one I might add) of getting one to succeed is force 4x or slower burn speed. I tried that and 1 out of 4 disks one finally worked! SO 20 disks later 1 was successful. Needless to say I'm not impressed. *Back to the slightly more expensive Verbatim for me.*

I've used about half of the brick so far.. and have had no errors. My PC is about 6 months old and I burn both Blu-Ray and DVD single and double layer disks. Make sure you always have the lastest firmware for your burner and software upgrades for your burning program.

Complete waste of time and money

These are truly the worst DVDs I've ever used. One bad disc after the other. Finally threw the whole spindle away out of frustration. By reading the reviews, most buyers have the same problem. Why won't Memorex fix it? I guess they're happy with a substandard product. I've had better value from an off-brand of dubious quality. At least in that case I only had a 50% failure rate. Memorex brand was totally unreliable any burner I tried. My only advise is: DON'T BUY MEMOREX. Buy ANYTHING rather than Memorex. Best Buy carries several other brands, so buy them. I've had great luck with HP, Sony, Maxell and Verbatim discs; all quality companies with great products.

I'm near the end of my 2nd 25 ct. spindle and haven't had a coaster yet. The movies I've burned have played back flawlessly. For anyone having troubles with blank media, it's always a good idea to try another brand if a certain brand fails you. Failures usually are a burner/disc issue. Some burners just don't like some discs.

    I wasted so much gas

I have used this brand a few times, well this last pack I bought I used a few out of it and decided to see if it worked in my dvd player, well it would play the beginning and then the screen went black so I was thinking ok mabe I messed something up.Well I tried it again and same thing so I said well let me try something different so I did and guess what same thing happened. Well I decided to look out the disc and see if I see something wrong with them, I look at the outer edgeds and they were bubbled from what I have no idea. Because of the bubbled it caused the dvds to get stuck in my dvd player and my computer. So I wasted gas to go pick them up in the store, and I had to waste gas to take them back to the store.I will have to waste gas once more because the store didn't have any other brands.Do not waste you time or money with this brand.

    A Complete Waste Of Money!!!

Memorex Media I would never purchase again because i've had nothing but problems with burn failures... Also, when I am fortunate enough to have a successful burn, the media won't play in my Sony DVD player, or in any other player... These discs are a complete waste of money and wouldn't recommend to anyone, unless you want to throw your money out the window... I've been using Verbatim Blank Media from now on and have yet to have a coaster... Verbatim are fantastic and would for sure recommend them to anyone who wants quality, dependability and durability...

    Junk Media

People keep saying it must be the software or user error, but I tried Memorex on my MacBook Pro, a USB External Memorex(!) drive, on a Windows 7 PC with ISOBurn and Nero with no luck. I tried to lower the burn speed as well. I returned them for some TDK DVD+R DL discs and my image burned the first time, with no issues. Do yourself a favor and buy Verbatim...they use Mitsubishi media and they are very highly rated.
