    Work great

I'm near the end of my 2nd 25 ct. spindle and haven't had a coaster yet. The movies I've burned have played back flawlessly. For anyone having troubles with blank media, it's always a good idea to try another brand if a certain brand fails you. Failures usually are a burner/disc issue. Some burners just don't like some discs.

Burnt twice (but not the dvds)

I have purchased these Memorex dual layer dvds from Best Buy and another retailer. I have yet to get a single completed project using these discs. With the same project open on my machine I switched to Verbatim and got a perfectly recorded disc. I have used other Memorex products without problems but they have failed miserably at producing a usable blank dual layer dvd.

I have used this brand in the 4.7 gig for over a year now.. used hundreds... not a single problem which is pretty amazing to me.. but with the 8 gig I would get about half way through the disks then I would get a lock up-freeze- jibberish- then off to the end of the movie deal... happened to more than one cd out of 5, and have never had this problem with the previous dvd's as I said.. coincidence? I'm thinking not and that these disks just are not up to the DL task. I am going to try another brand since reviews there seem to be fine so far.. Look for my review.

I have gone through a 20 disc spindle of these and have had no success completing a burn. I have tried using three different DVD burners: internal on an iMac; internal on a MacBook Pro; and and external attached to the MacBook. I've done Google searches on the various error messages and tried several suggested fixes. But the bottom line from every support forum I've read is that the problem is incompatible media.

    Memorex DL Discs are Terrible

Unfortunately I purchased Memorex DL discs on numerous occasions when they were on sale. The best success I ever experienced was probably a 60% burn rate. I believe my last batch was approximately 30% successful. I thought it was because I didn't have high cost dvd burners, then I did more research and discovered it was the discs. I purchased Verbatim 96577 8.5 GB 2.4x-6x Double Layer Recordable Disc DVD+R DL, 50-Disc Spindle and have burned several in my first batch. I have yet to have a failed burn with the Verbatim. Never see the Verbatim DL on sale, but they are still a better value.

VERRY BAD DISKS PURCH TWICE BOTH BAD

Bad quality, twice, 1st time thought my drive didnt like DL. 2nd time ran quality tests & got the run around from Memorex. They tefused to replace, claiming my memorex drive not compatiple with Win7. When I told them some were done on newer Hp drive that came with pc, I was told to open another claim for the "few disks" burned on it. DDONT BUY MEMOREX. Many of the single layer disks only 6mth old now going bad jumpy or wont play anymore. You will loose your data or movies, in my personal opinion

    Excellent Discs

Although some have complained that they have had many, many coasters from these discs, I am inclined to blame failure on the software they used. A good value for the money, and, so far, no coasters.

Don't Waste Your Money On These

Working with three different burning programs, one of which is the current Nero Burning Rom (9.4.13.2), on a brand new Sony Dual Layer DVD-Burner (purchased at CompUSA) as well as a rather reliable NEC burner (Both with entirely current firmware), with every resident process killed, My internet disabled and using disks from two different stacks from two different manufactures... (I didn't choose to get Memorex again. I merely had no choice when trying to exchange the media at a local big box store (not Best Buy) as the store only carried Memorex DL's and they would not refund the money. Their return policy is not to refund money on opened blank media, even though to see if the media is defective, you have to open it.) ...the ratio was 2 to 3 coasters created for every successful burn. Losing the possibility of my system being the problem, it must be the media itself. Do not buy these unless you're looking for a way to make expensive yet pretty Coasters.

    Pure Garbage

Out of 10 discs - 6 failed in burning - 4 completed burning successfully but only one of them plays properly. Why would Best Buy even consider putting a product like this on their shelf? Are there that many people that won't return defective products that they can make a profit? Memorex is carried by every store I shop at so there must be some incentive for carrying such a poor quality product.

Wish I had read the reviews here before purchasing. The first 4 out of 5 discs gave me write errors, the 5th gave me read errors. I ahve gone thru (2) 25-pk spindles of Memorex DVD-R 4.7GB discs with no problems but these are junk!

    Unreliable

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

Over a six month period, I purchased two of these Memorex 25-Pack 8x DVD+R DL spindles. Using 3 different DVD writers, an error often occured while writing more than half of the discs, rendering the discs no longer writable. The discs that successfully made it through the writing process, had errors during playback. All 3 DVD writers are successfully writing discs made by other manufacturers, but not the 8x DVD+R DL made by Memorex. Don't even purchase this product on sale, until this quality issue is addressed by Memorex.

So I recently started making my own Games from ISO files for the Xbox 360 and i was stoked went to the nearest best buy and bought the 25 spindle took them home and recorded my first game. Sadly when I was playing the game it said that the Disk is unreadable i thought it was a bad burn but when i tried again with other disks and other ISO's I saw that this was not the case. Save the heartbreak and money buy Verbatims all Verbatims i have used to burn Iso's and other big files WORK

    Spend the extra for Verbatim

These Memorex dvd-r dl discs are just awful. 2/3's of my last batch did not work. I should have known better from my previous bad experiencewith them, but they were on sale. Stay away from them and spend the extra on Verbatim. I wish Best Buy would get another brand of DL dvd-r's and drop the Memorex.
