Thanks for sharing your thoughts. To address your concerns, know that you don't have to subscribe to Office 365 and pay an annual renewal cost. You can purchase Office 2016 or Office 2019 and pay a one-time cost. We recommend using Office 365 however, for the security and program updates that Microsoft takes care of for you.

I want to know why is it that this subscription expires after 3 months. Is it so that customers must keep purchasing something that is rarely used often?
