It can be installed on an iPad, though the installation is a little different. First, download the Microsoft 365 App you would like from the Appstore. Then, tap the app to launch it.
Sign in with your Microsoft Account or Office 365 work or school account and tap Next.
You are good to go.

This is convenient if the product is replaced, but can be expensive. The product seems to have the same procedure as Office with a few exceptions like templates and art work only available on line for word processing and spreadsheets. At this point, seems to meet by needs.
