Customers are saying

Customers love the 365 Family subscription for its ease of use, compatibility across multiple systems, and great price. Many appreciate its performance, software features, and cloud storage capabilities. Installation is straightforward, and users value the regular updates and tools like Excel. However, some customers dislike the yearly subscription model, and a few have experienced issues with Outlook.

The Most Frustrating Cloud Based Program

Office 365 is embarrassing for Microsoft. It isn't even in the same universe as Office Professional, my last version 2013. There are numerous bugs that prevent it from operating like the older version. 1. It will not hold formatting when you have set your template in Word. It reverts back to the original format even after one has set the change as "default". 2. It will not allow words to be added to the Dictionary. For example, the book of the Bible, Hebrews, must be capitalized but Word 365 wants to change the spelling. The capital version cannot be added easily as in Word 2013. 3. I work in two languages all the time. In Word 2013, once I had set the program to recognize the language it worked flawlessly. But in Word 365, it does not matter on what language the default is set, it will revert back to the other language at inopportune times specially when cutting and pasting. Very frustrating. I spend more time formatting my document than in creating it. Never happened in Word 2013. Technical support is or should be highly embarrassing to Microsoft. I began my quest to fix Word 365 or find a solution via Microsoft technical support chat. NO RESOLUTION!!!! I then managed to finally talk to a live person, after multiple calls and a lengthy time on hold. The first person could not resolve the issues and when they told me I was being transferred to someone they said could solve the problem, I was disconnected. This is been a highly disappointing experience for me even after using Microsoft Office for over 20 years. Seriously considering using WordPerfect or another program. 3.

Just not worth the yearly fee

    Posted .

We purchased this and installed the product on multiple devices. In the year, we have used this product less than a dozen times. Primarily on our personal computer and even then, the constant tweaks have made the changes SO very irritating to use this product's applications! We have been using iMac since 2010 when our IBM compatible pc hard drive failed and lost all our data. ( and not the first time, either! ) We do not have the money to waste on yearly subscriptions and the product tweaks are just window dressing anyway. From the previous reviews we have read and personal experience, we do not trust digital licenses. We would rather have the physical media on hand, in our home library. We like Microsoft but not enough to waste our money on paying a yearly usage fee.

At first I thought it was going to be a big adjustment from the software that was on my computer, but it's just as easy on the web. I would recommend this product.

    Excellent Subscription for the Price

We have had this plan now since 2018. Its a great plan with alot bundled into the package for the pricing. The oblu issue I have is the setting up of a domain name woth GoDaddy to Microsoft Office, which GoDaddy’s interface just does not work well.. I know there are other viable solutions, therefore, I wouldnt let this be a deciding factor on purchasing.

Office is as ubiquitous as it is essential.

I've been using the Office suite in daily life for as long as I can remember and outside of a few kinks here and there, it's served me well. I can also remember the days of having to choose whether or not the latest release was worth the cost over the previous version. With Office 365, one no longer has to choose, we get the latest versions automatically for a reasonable cost for the year. Sure you can download free versions from other vendors that are more or less completely compatible, but for $100 a year for up to 5 installations, why bother?

Office 365 Rocks! Buying via Best Buy does not!

If you purchase the subscription via Best Buy you manage it via Best Buy vs. Microsoft. This has turned into a hassle. I received an Office365 gift card for Xmas but Best Buy, after your first purchase, tries to automatically renew at a more expensive rate. Been a real hassle to trying to use my gift card to renew. Love Office365 itself, though.

You are renting for 1 year

When you buy <<Microsoft Office 365 Home (5-PCs or Macs + 5-iPads or Select Windows Tablets) (1 Year Subscription) - Mac/Windows>> you are paying for 365 days of being able to access the software. The title says it all, right? If this product worked as well as a standard Office product that is installed on a computer the price would be worth it. However, this product is slower, has less features, and is not as user friendly as an installed version of Office. If price is a consideration, and you only need this product for 1 year, and you don't mind this product being slower than a standard Office product that is installed on your computer, then by all means get this product. We all know what Office is capable of and this product will do all that you need done. However, if speed is important to you, if you are used to Office and get frustrated when things are different, and you need access to your files for longer than a year you'll want to buy a different office productivity suite.

    average product

overall, I think this is an average product. I am surprised that they do not make it easier to do a clean install of Microsoft office. Most of my rules in Outlook were dysfunctional and needed to be re-created. In addition, all my safe senders needed to be re-created. I cannot believe they do not allow you to backup your settings appropriately. overall, I am not a fan of Microsoft.

At first I was a little annoyed that you had to buy a one year subscription and not just get everything but the fact that I can load this onto 5 devices is awesome plus I really like the updated versions (was using 2010 before.) This has everything and Outlook is way better than what I was using for email before too.

I bought this Office 365 expecting to use it on multiple laptops / Computers. I was able to download it on my I Mac but when I tried to load it on another laptop I kept getting an error messages! I called Microsoft and after over 1 1/2 hrs they could not rectify the problem and said that their technical support team was aware of the problem! That was almost 2 months ago and they still have not resolved this problem. It says it does up to 5 PCs / Macs. It's a lie. The new system of scratching the serial number and downloading off the internet stinks!! I don't think I would have this problem if they still had the discs!
