Unfortunately, you can't use this card to extend an existing subscription unless it was purchased directly from Microsoft. I had to cancel my subscription through Apple and get a refund for the unused portion before I could use the card. I would purchase this only for an initial subscription or to extend an existing one purchased directly from MS.

It just makes life easier and with the included online storage, it is a cinch to save docs to the cloud and switch between devices including a Windows 7 Laptop, my iPad and even my Phone. Mail merge was the one thing that took me a while to figure out since it was a little glitchy but otherwise, very happy with this purchase. Home Edition allows for the most downloads I believe. Worth the $!

I hate the annual subscription concept, but BestBuy did me right in offering it at a discounted rate with 18 month membership at the time of purchasing a new LapTop. Thanks BestBuy!
