Do not really have a choice of not getting. Do not feel it should be a subscription. It should be standard software not an option or a one time fee.

Also that I don't need to worry about upgrading- worth the $ not having to think about it.

I was disappointed to find that I could only buy an online download version that is a one year subscription, but I went ahead and used reward points and took advantage of a sale since I wanted to stay with what I was familiar with and be able to open my documents, etc. So far, I do see some differences, which I am getting used to and learning new things, so this is serving the purpose intended. Will continue working with it, evaluate and consider what decision is best when it's time to renew.

That said, I did carefully investigate pricing and details on the purchase of 365 Personal for the first year. With a computer purchase through Best Buy (and other stores), Microsoft makes it available for $49, and it includes a generous round of products, including Word, PowerPoint, Outlook and Publisher. Excel, OneNote and Access are also included. I couldn't find a better price, so I have a year to test all the bells and whistles and then decide where to go from there.

The feathers I like more is OneDrive and Outlook. Excel and Word always have the latest model to use, good to take this advantage of.

Supposedly I purchased a plan giving me access to 365 on 5x computers. There is no way to contact MS about a replaced computer. Their Customer Service contact is not useful.
