If you open the suite, and then Word for example, it makes new documents cloud docs. You have to go into your programs and select Word on its own to use it in the og way. I'm not a fan of everything in the cloud to start, I have plenty of hard drive space and know how to use it.

I purchased the personal account to create a privacy wall and retain intellectual property rights. My organization uses office 365 but I create using my personal account and machine in hopes of being to retain ownership of my products. So far the personal account has allowed to silo my personal stuff from my work stuff pretty well.

I replaced this before it even ran out. Then I tired to download it onto another PC to use the remainder and I could not--so, wasted money. Microsoft keeps tight control their products and when and how you can use them.
