So they charge you every year and I have no choice but to repay them every year for something I purchased. Next they will figure out how to sell you a computer AND charge you every year to use it.

With this feedback, Microsoft came out with Office 365 (subscription based only) versions and Office 2016 versions sold at a one-time retail price and you own it forever.
