Later I found out I could have bought the product from Microsoft directly as a single install (one payment but no upgrades). I was replacing a version that was 10 years old and still working. I only use the simple functions of WORD, so don't need all the other fancy stuff that is upgraded every year. I think the subscription version with the upgrades is for people who need more functionality than me. And if they tell you that you save 10% by signing up for their credit card - read the fine print VERY carefully! For me the 10% of my $573 purchase was $50, and the savings is not in cash it is store credit.

Wish it came with the computer for free and not require a yearly subscription. So different from previous Microsoft modules that automatically came with computer for free. I wish it had a choice of being able to put on two devices and not either 1 or family.

I'm not please with that aspect (thus lower value score) but the software offers everything I have grown accustom to for Word and Excel.
