Very good product for a college student and a pc at home

I chose to get the office 365 subscription. It meets all my needs - Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint. I don't use Access at all. No issues activating and installing on my Surface device.

I have been a 20 year user of Office. I switched from WordPerfect in the mid 90s and have generally been a fan. Since I am a writer/teacher I primarily use Word but the other programs in office are employed as well. I have been able to do quite well without buying the newest version everytime MS wants to add to their bottom line by introducing a new "upgrade." The subscription model of Office 365 takes that option away and forces the user to buy what MS is selling just to provide a constant revenue stream to MS. Yes I can purchase the stand alone product but all of the support from MS seems to flow to Office 365. The long and the short of it is that I am test driving open office alternatives and I am very close to simply moving away from MS Office altogether.

I do NOT like the fact that you can only "rent" office products from Microsoft! All I really wanted was WORD and EXCEL (and by the way, EXCEL is still problematic! I have contacted the Microsoft help team a couple times with no luck so far), but it appears that you can now only RENT their products - AND - you must rent the whole package! I do not use the other stuff so I feel that it is a WASTE OF MONEY! Unfortunalety, since Microsoft is a monopoly, I have no other choice since all of my documents are either WORD or EXCEL, so I am stuck over-paying for this software. But now, more painfully, I will have to keep paying over and over again, every year, for the same crappy software.

When I 1st registered the product in ran like a dream. One week later I began to get era messages every time I use word. I had to call Microsoft and get them to resolve the problem. Now everything is OK
