Paying for yearly subscription is a nice move on their part, but personally I prefer one time purchase.

Main reason was that the One worked really well for many years but all new components to coordinate so I figured I'd get the newer version of the One, i.e., the Ultimate One. Got an excellent deal with BB matching prices (thanks, BB). Remote is fine but not an improvement. I have had good luck with this brand but it's a bit like replacing an iPhone 7 with an iPhone 8. Remind yourself why you 'had' to have the newest largely unimproved version?

I end up googling how to use it but other than that it's great! I can do what I need to for school and pleasure!
