Beware: Microsoft does not replace a broken dongle

Keyboard and mouse are okay. Keyboard is bigger, but I liked that. The keys for both the keyboard and mouse are loud. My main issue, however, is that the dongle you need to connect the mouse and keyboard to your device is big (size of a typical flash drive) and very easily bent. Of course I've bent the dongle, contacted Microsoft, and was told that they do not replace dongles because they are unique to the particular keyboard and mouse. "The best resolution that I can advise for this concern is to purchase a new set of Device instead. I hope you understand that this is something that we cannot override in the system." Something about protecting the encryption. This is super wasteful. I wish the product description was more transparent about this. If this was mentioned anywhere - instead of buried in the thousands of Q&As - I would not have purchased this product. Logitech has a universal receiver/dongle in case you lose or damage the one they provide. I suggest buying one of their keyboard mouse combos instead. They have quiet versions too.

This Microsoft wireless keyboard and mouse have been working properly since I purchased them. I had no problems setting them up. I like the fact that I can use the wireless keyboard either on my computer desk or on my lap.

Replaced an aging Microsoft Comfort Keyboard 4000 with this pair. Pushback on the keys of the 5050 is nice but I would have preferred the shape and key layout of the 4000 and a closer functional reproduction of the Laser Mouse 5000 that came with it. The new mouse is close but different enough to make a difference in action.

Easy set up. Not to big. Works well to supplement the laptop keyboard for all this work at home, and flight simulator. The curvilinear aspect works well for me.

To me, this keyboard and mouse combo is the best that Microsoft has put out, because of its subtle ergonomics and durability. Also, the feel of the keys is a little firm but very responsive. The mouse fits my large hands (I palm a basketball) and my wife’s little ones. Note, I’m on my third set in ten years. I bought this replacement set, because my grandson got the mouse wet and I was unable to save it. You can’t go wrong with this Microsoft combo.

I have 3 of these now. I prefer the keyboard layout over others available. Keyboard is lightweight and comfortable. I've been using this model since it first came out. 2 of my 3 keyboards are originals that have lasted for several years, so when I added a new desktop to my collection, I wanted the MS keyboard and mouse combo. I highly recommend both !

Great keyboard. Relaxing on my wrist. Glad I made the purchase. The only thing I miss is the keyboard doesn't light up. I can't tell when the caps lock is on.

I received this as a gift -- didn't know I needed it, but now I don't know how I managed without it. It is reliable and easy to install and use, and the freedom from being tethered to my desk by a short rope is wonderful!

Once I started using this design with more natural angle for my wrists, I really notice how uncomfortable the old straight keyboard is. Cordless is nice.... except the edge of my wood desk top seems to block the signal a bit. I was getting lag in keyboard response until I moved the the bluetooth to a USB on the front of my computer box ( closer to the front of desk )

No real complaints, it is a very comfortable keyboard with the design of the wrist resting area. I think for me the keys don't feel the best, they arent bad its just that Ive used keyboards where the keys have felt better. This is the first wireless keyboard Ive owed and I won't ever go back.

This keyboard is just okay. I have been using it for 9 months now and it only connects via a dongle, it has no Bluetooth which is sad. The keys are also mushy. So for short typing it's okay but for long term typing, I suggest anything with easier lighter or mechanical type of keys.
