When you press them they do the key macro instead of the F1 to F12 keys. If you want to use them, you have to hold down the "Fn" key.

The feel of the keys were very good However the syncing problem was a joy killer and I ended up throwing it in the garbage.

Would be perfect if you don't need to bring it with you. No off switch. It's always on. So if you throw it in your backpack it's still on and typing away as you bump into things and move around. Not practical if you want to take it to places.
