No Pain No More
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This keyboard is great. I now have two of them. Great key placement and attachment to raise the front. Seemed kind of weird at first, but oh does it help a lot. Get this before you pain. And the price is well worth it.

Very nice.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was a little skeptical about this ergonomic keyboard at first, but it didn't take long to become very comfortable with using it. Nice layout of keys along with all the special features makes short work of tedious tasks! Love it!

Great keyboard
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is my second Microsoft ergonomic keyboard. I've had the first one for years until it gave out this week. I would not consider my self to be a keyboard guru, but spend enough time to be discriminating, and my old one got replaced with one the same model. Other than the finish on the keys, the two boards look and feel identical. I rate the board as follows: COMFORT - the best!!, DURABILITY - I've had the first one for so long, I don't remember how many years old it is. Just about every part of my computer has been replaced while this board has stayed, So unless this new board wears out or the paint wears off in the near future durability remains excellent, I'm going to politely have to disagree with those who claim the quality has gone down. ERGONOMICS - I don't find the keys any louder than any other keyboard I've used, and quieter than many. I've not ever had a sticking problem - not even on that oversized space bar. VALUE - I could have spent four plus times more money for a keyboard, and not been any happier. The only complaint that I could possibly have is that other (non-ergonomic) boards are slow for me, and my error rate goes up drastically when I have to use them. This keyboard felt natural from the first time I used it! Love it!

EK4k…space ship or keyboard?
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I use the Ergonomic Keyboard 4000, or as I call it the EK4k, eight hours a day five days a week in my office and I have to say that it is a very good keyboard compared to the prior Logitech keyboard I was using. The design of the keyboard is well done. It has the feel of a ergonomic keyboard but it doesn’t look as bad with the big gaping space between the keys that really made the keyboard look large and clunky. This is my main keyboard that gets used the most out of all the keyboard I ever use on a daily bases and I have to admit that I don’t hurt as much in the arms, fingers and wrists than what I do with a standard keyboard. Ergonomic Keyboard 4000, sounds cooler than it is, also has some customizable quick keys that runs across the top; 1,2,3,4 and 5. These you can set for anything you run on your computer application wise. The EK4k also has some basic hot keys for volume, mail, search, internet and a calculator, sweet. The cool, yet frustrating, thing about the EK4k is the “Flock” button. This button turns your function keys (aka F1, F2…) into hot keys that can be used for Mail and other applications. This would be cool if I didn’t remember all the hotkeys but it does make things a bit quicker for those who use there gray matter for more important things. The Microsoft Natural Ergonomic Keyboard 4000 has a very long name but works well as keyboard. The customizable “generic” keys and the Flock keys make the keyboard shine above the rest. The space bar did bind a bit when I first got the keyboard but after lots of use it has stopped doing it. The space bar binding want a big deal but it was just enough to bring the rating down from a perfect five. For those of you looking for a nice ergonomic keyboard the EK4k is a really good buy and defiantly gets a recommendation from me. 4 out of 5.

comfortable but....
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I read all the reviews before I purchased this keyboard because I am picky since I type full time. I read reviews that the space bar is noisy and that seemed to be the one common negative about this keyboard. I thought I could deal with a noisy keyboard so I bought it. What I found with the space bar however is that because it is so large and the way it is positioned it doesn't always go down when you hit it and it seems to get hung up on one side or the other. This I cannot deal with. I suppose if I didn't type full time and used the keyboard casually I could just deal with the space bar getting hung up but because I need speed and accuracy this keyboard is not working for me. It is a real shame because it is the only flaw I have noticed. The shape of the keyboard is very comfortable, even for long periods of typing but I am constantly having to re-hit the space bar and make corrections because of it. If they would just correct this flaw to make the space bar a single motion rather than a teeter-totter motion the keyboard would be much, much better.

Good replacement for the old Natural Keyboards
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Comfortable, and feels good, easy to use and doesn't bother me even after extended hours. I have been using MS keyboards for a long time now and this one is finally one I can get behind. I like that the keys between the QWERTY and number pad are not all messed up, they are just how they are supposed to be, two rows of 6. The only downside is that it is missing a few media keys like skip tracks and the like that the older MS keyboards did have. That, and it doesn't have a USB hub in it like my old one.

Helps relieve typing stress
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This keyboard takes a day or two to get used to with the split key setup, but significantly reduces the amount of typing strain I get during long writing or programming sessions.

Excellent Ergonomic Keyboard
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Microsoft Natural Ergonomic Keyboard 4000 is very comfortable on my hands, especially with the cushioned wrist rest built-in. I like the convenience of the forward/backward button and the zoom control. I have created some macros using the programmable buttons on the top row, that make life a little easier.

Like it
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Took a little time to get use to it but really like it. I needed something that would support my wrist better and it does the job. Would have given it a 5 if it didn't feel off center.

GREAT!!!!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a great keyboard, I thought that with the separation of the keys would be hard to get used to but really I don't notice. I have noticed that I type faster. But what i did have to get used to was the curve of the keyboard but I got over that in a few hours. I love this board so much!!!! Also when I type the keys are not noisy so that is a very but plus, they glide well and it is very comfortable.

great overall
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The key layout will take some getting used to and I had to replace mine (just after the warranty expired,of course) when the space bar was permanently depressed and I couldn't release it. The space bar may be a design problem because you have to press hard on it, not a good aspect if you're using this to ease stress on your hands. But overall, once you use this keyboard, it's very hard to go back to a normal one.

A Keyboard to Rule Them All
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I tried several different keyboards (both Natural and rectangular QWERTY) before settling on this one. It is, hands down, the best keyboard that I have ever used. As a computer programmer I spend long stints at the keyboard. With rectangular QWERTY keyboards, those without the split in the middle, my wrists would start to feel strained within a few hours. It finally dawned on me that regular keyboards force your wrists into a very unnatural position when your fingers are on the home keys. The switch from rectangular keyboards to Natural keyboards eliminated wrist strain. I can type for 12 hours on this thing and not feel any strain at all. Switching to this particular Natural keyboard resulted in much faster, more accurate typing with much less noise. I think this keyboard helps you type faster because each key press requires less force than any other keyboard I've ever used. Worth every penny. I just bought a second one for home use.

Just a few buttons short of perfect
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This was to be used as a susbtitute for a wireless keyboard when the batteries went dead. Instead, it has proven itself a solid replacement. The wrist rest is padded, not hard plastic. This little addition makes it comfortable for long hours in front of a computer. The Zoom key in the middle of the keyboard is a little marvel, allowing for a larger display of a webpage or spreadsheet. It has the usual array of buttons to access volume, web browser and mail as well as the ability to set quick links to various websites or applications. The only thing this keyboard is missing are 'Next' and 'Previous' buttons using a media player. Despite this omission, I have replaced my keyboard at work and one at home with this model.

Relieves stress from wrists & hands while typing
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have carpal tunnel in both wrists and osteoarthritis. I was introduced to this type of keyboard at work and was very skeptical at first - did not expect there would be any noticeable difference. After adjusting to the keyboard style and removing the Front Tilt Plate, I could not believe how much stress on my hands and wrists was relieved. The hand rest is soft & wide which allows the wrist, palm & thumb area to be in a relaxed position while typing. With such a huge stress difference I decided to purchase one for my home computer. The keys do not make any type of noise however the space bar does if tapped on the right side. Not that bothersome considering the comfort. I would highly recommend this product.

Microsoft - Natural Ergonomic Keyboard 4000 - Blac
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've used this keyboard for at least 5 years and it has been exceptional. As with some of the other reviewers, I started suffering from carpal tunnel with a regular keyboard and mouse - this keyboard, in conjunction with a Logitech rollerball mouse, have completely eliminated any CT issues. In addition, I've had no problem with fading of the letters on the keys or issues with the space bar - I work at my desk and use the keyboard 8 - 10 hours a day and as mentioned above, for over 5 years. If I have one criticism, it's that it is a wired vs. wireless keyboard. It isn't really a problem and the connecting wire is long enough to use on an adjustable standup desk, but wireless would be nice. I'm very happy with the keyboard and have recommended it to a number of friends and business associates.

Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.i am a coder, this has been my keyboard at work for almost 10 years, still working great, i wish there's a no cord version though. i've used it for such a long time that 4 keys i use most don't have the letter on them anymore, doesn't bother me, other than that, i like it a lot i had to post a good review

Excellent Keyboard!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love this keyboard and am about to buy a 5th one. I lost the first three to Diet Coke, Diet Coke, and Lemonade spills. But for some reason, I still have yet to find a better one. I'm a fluffy guy so these little smaller non-split keyboards are tough on my wrists. This 4000 keyboard feels very natural and I would still buy the 7th, 8th, and 15th one as long as they keep producing it. I wish the buttons on the top were compatible with the Mac because I find myself using those too on my PC. Cheers, get one, you'll love it. :)

So Comfortable
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I absolutely love having the split keyboard. I used one at work a couple years back and finally decided to get one for home. My hands never hurt from typing anymore and I feel like I can type faster once I got used to the split layout. I would highly recommend this keyboard to anyone looking for relief from sore wrists, but be warned, the split key layout can be annoying at first if you can't type without looking at the keys. I do wish they would remove the back/forward hotkeys located below the spacebar. They are for web browsing but I do from time to time hit the back button while typing an email and lose my letter if i'm not paying attention.
