With this feedback, Microsoft came out with Office 365 (subscription based only) versions and Office 2016 versions sold at a one-time retail price and you own it forever. If you're not happy with your Office 365 experience, you can easily transfer over to Office 2019 Home and Student or Office 2019 Home and Business. Either Office 2019 package has a one-time purchase.
