Forced price increase

However, Microsoft has recently increased the price by $30/year with the forced addition of Copilot, despite its dubious usefulness. Microsoft offers a way to "downgrade" to the Classic version (keeping the original price and features, without Copilot). Unfortunately, if you purchased your subscription through Best Buy, this is not an option for you. Best Buy refuses to allow this downgrade option. It took two hours with support and 12 transfers to find this out. There is no way to purchase the cheaper "Classic" version without downgrading an existing account, which Best Buy will not allow, which means you are locked into the more expensive version with no alternative.

I have used it a lot more than I ever thought I would. Also, I get emails giving me instructions and tips on how to use its many options. Worth the cost.

It's something I have to have so I do not have the choice to not have it. In previous purchases I always bout lifetime version and had it pre installed I would probably have preferred that option even if you don't get all the updates

I do not like that you have to pay a monthly fee for office now so a free year was nice.
