They no longer offer a lifetime, purchase option so that customers can continue to obtain updates without being Gig'ed every year by an annual subscription. This card with code was easy to use and set-up, plus it was discounted when I purchased by laptop at Best Buy.

I know some versions are a one time purchase but you can only use them on one computer. Unfortunately Microsoft has the monopoly on the market so in order to get the best you have to enter into the yearly trap!

Also, Office 365 Home allows up to five users on five different machines. We suggest looking into Office 365 Home if you're after a program that allows mutliple users with different devices.
