When I returned the ourchase, Best Buy tried to charge me for this (even though I never downloaded it), but eventually they figured out how to take back the code.

I don't like the option because I only use Excel & Word but have to pay for all the office products.

With this feedback, Microsoft came out with Office 365 (subscription based only) versions and Office 2016 versions sold at a one-time retail price and you own it forever.
