Even though it says you get Office 2016, when your subscription expires the software isn't usable anymore! You can't generate new documents or edit existing ones until you renew your subscription.

With this feedback, Microsoft came out with Office 365 (subscription based only) versions and Office 2016 versions sold at a one-time retail price and you own it forever.
