Not Impressed With MS Office 365

I switched from WordPerfect in the mid 90s and have generally been a fan. Since I am a writer/teacher I primarily use Word but the other programs in office are employed as well. I have been able to do quite well without buying the newest version everytime MS wants to add to their bottom line by introducing a new "upgrade." The subscription model of Office 365 takes that option away and forces the user to buy what MS is selling just to provide a constant revenue stream to MS. Yes I can purchase the stand alone product but all of the support from MS seems to flow to Office 365. The long and the short of it is that I am test driving open office alternatives and I am very close to simply moving away from MS Office altogether.
