Why are we FORCED to just RENT Office products?

Owned for 1 month when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I do NOT like the fact that you can only "rent" office products from Microsoft! All I really wanted was WORD and EXCEL (and by the way, EXCEL is still problematic! I have contacted the Microsoft help team a couple times with no luck so far), but it appears that you can now only RENT their products - AND - you must rent the whole package! I do not use the other stuff so I feel that it is a WASTE OF MONEY! Unfortunalety, since Microsoft is a monopoly, I have no other choice since all of my documents are either WORD or EXCEL, so I am stuck over-paying for this software. But now, more painfully, I will have to keep paying over and over again, every year, for the same crappy software.

So I bought in as I need what they are selling. Microsoft has their monopoly and the Congress is too spineless to affect change.
