Microsoft Office is a necessary evil. The apps are industry standard -- and are needed for normal business and school activities. A better model might be to "embed" the office costs into the PC/Mac at purchase. A student version expiring in (4) years seems odd -- once you buy the SW -- it should be usable until technology improvements renders the SW obsolete (i.e. Windows 95 era SW doesn't work so well on the latest Microsoft SW). Also, what if the student takes (5) years or more to graduate?

Bought our daughter a new laptop for college. We hadn't realized that the Microsoft word, excel, etc. weren't included in the Windows 8 laptop, so we had to rush out and pickup this software before her first paper was due.

This is a great office suite for college student. Lots of versatility. But remember, you're only renting it, so that is kind of lame. Of course it will cover the whole 4 years and in 4 years it'll be obsolete anyway!

It's to much simple save of work but this has you everywhere makes me sick to have to go through all the bs to get to where I'm going. Hate this product but I spent the money so I have to live with it!!

This computer is awesome! It looks like a Mac but works better than one! The first one of this model that I bought was literally demon-possessed but I returned it to Best Buy and got another through the mail. It's great!

I am always disappointed by the changes made to windows os' in general and this goes for MSOffice as well. For a beginner it is probably a different story. Everyone should judge their experiences on their own.

I was just disappointed that we had to scan a copy of her acceptance letter for them to authorize this product. They should be able to recognize all colleges and universities in the US, even the small ones.

I have not really seen any major difference between office 2013 and this latest version. For the regular office user, there is no major or obvious difference in functionality and user experience.

Works great for my word processing and spread sheet needs. I don't like that you have to download the software. I prefer a cd to install the software. It took four attempts to download - that was very frustrating.

Works fine once it is on the computer. Would phone microsoft for assistance early if having difficulty getting it on the computer, as they were helpful and I could not get it working on my own.

This is a worthy upgrade. Web 2.0 look and feel, cloud features and comes with OneDrive and Skype add-on's. Consistent feel across all the different applications including other products like Visio and Project.

It was great deal if I could get it downloaded to my devices properly. I'm not sure what went wrong. I'm usually good at this sort of thing. Troubleshooting the issue did me no justice.

Office suite is a great added bonus to purchasing the computer with a .edu email address. Unfortunately, access to the programs expires after 4 years, even though the need for it surpasses that time period.

I like the Office on my Mac (some things are different than the PC version I'm used to) but was upset when I found out this version I dropped $60 can be purchased at work for $10. oh well, my mistake.

It does the job. It is a good product for students, especially on a budget. Just have to plan on only a Bachelors, completed on time, to keep it that way, lol.

Anyone in school or has a family member in school, knows that this is the premium for all of your school papers and presentations. I wouldn't have been able to make it through my first quarter without it!

Microsoft seems to like changing things up a bit and a lot of the changes in this version slowed me down in formatting and finishing documents. We also had confusion on how to download the software for it.

Great package deal because it's got all the essential Microsoft Office applications in one place. My only qualm is that there's no OneNote for Mac, but that's more of a system let-down than a product let-down.

It's a no-brainer, if you are going to school and you buy a computer, free Office 2013, gotta love it. Who cares if you can use it just 4 years, by that time I'm going to want to use the newest version anyway.

It's easy to set up, and to use it's so simple. You have word, excel, power point and the amazing one note! Like the cloud sync with my Microsoft account to keep my files with me everytime and everywhere.
