Much needed for anyone using a computer to work, and still better than Apple or Google alternatives. Still, not a fan of the constant changes in menus and functions from one version to another. And it is expensive for a basic product. The good surprise: MSOutlook in the pack

Sales agent sold us the wrong software for our new laptop. Then we bought the maintenance agreement and had problems there as well. Involved us making several unnescessary trips back and forth to the store. Not a good experience!

The only thing wrong with this purchase was the serial number wasn't activated correctly by best buy. I had to call Microsoft and jump through all of that mess to get it fixed..

If we weren't so unhappy with our July purchase of our Dell computer, I could probably rate this product with a better rating. But we are so extremely unhappy with the new pc, that it is hard to give a better rating.

The product provides the basic elements needed, but for the price it should allow more than the one device to be used. The digital download process is also cumbersome.

    Alternative to MS Office 365

I was looking for some alternative to MS Office 365. This edition is a minimum set of applications for professionals. Look like Office 2013, but has a whooping price 249.99 instead 149.00.

Had used Microsoft Office for several years. This version takes getting used to. Also, am not pleased that i had to buy a version that requires annual subscription to get Publisher.

      Hey TI,

Thanks for your feedback; we really appreciate hearing from our customers. It helps us to enhance our products for your use and satisfaction. If you're still having some hiccups adapting to Office 365, check out our Office Training Center for some tutorials and overall guidance on the software: https://support.office.com/office-training-center

Additionally, you can totally cancel your Office 365 subscription and, instead, purchase a copy of Office Professional 2019. That's Microsoft's perpetual license that includes Publisher, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Access.

If you have any more questions or concerns, feel free to reach out to our Customer Support Team!

New computer so needed new operating system. Average. Nothing special. Microsoft tries to get you to purchase annually vs purchasing outright. I choose to purchase outright.

Outlook is useless unless you never want to delete emails from your email server. Microsoft, in its infinite wisdom, decided you need a feature to sync emails on your PC with those on your email provider. This 'feature' cannot be disabled. I had to stop using Outlook all together after I ran out of space on my email account. Took me hours to delete them all again. I'm looking for a replacement.

So if you have used Microsoft Office at all since Office 2013, there is not going to be a huge difference in terms of aesthetics that you will notice. There's a little bit of gradient to the solid colors and such, but no major change to the look and feel of the software. One thing to really note is that it seems as though Microsoft has been using Office 365 as the testing ground for features of the next perpetual release of Office. Office 2019 appears to contain the features that have been slowly released into Office 365 to this point. On that, however, it will not continue to receive the major functionality releases that will be automatically included with an Office 365 subscription. This remains a standalone package. As to what has changed... There's a few notable differences of Office 2019 over 2016 that users will notice. For Word it is something called Focus mode, which takes out all the distraction of menu bars and scroll bars and such and makes it so the edges are blacked out in the application itself. It is designed to help you work better with fewer things intruding on your vision of your document. In trying it, it feels pretty cool, though being that I use Word mostly for business functionality, someone like myself may find it less important than someone that is trying to use Word creatively and reduce outside distractions. Still a cool feature though. For PowerPoint it appears they've added some more supported formats for media and such, including the addition of SVG files for graphic manipulation. There's also some new transitions (hey, we all love transitions), and the ability to send the presentation to a 4K video. Excel, the one tool I use more than I'd care to admit, has new formulas and new chart options (the new chart options are welcome as it feels like for a while there has been a notable lack of improvement in this area). I dont use OneNote as much as I probably should, however it contains new features for handwriting to text support which I have not had a chance to try yet. All in all it's a worthy upgrade, particularly if you havent been using Office 365, but if you have been, dont buy it separately as it will gain you nothing new.
