    Office 2010 was better.

When I heard that Office 2013 was easier to use and more responsive than office 2010, I immediately purchased the software to do my homework and do other things. What I found out was it had no installation disc, 1 time use only, and a prettied up version of 2010. The installation takes about an hour if you have a decent network and once installed and activated their is no turning back. The verdict is you get a cheap over-priced knock off of Office 2007 and 2010. At least 2010 had an install disc and a multi-use product key. I now have buyer's remorse.

I don't like that I could only install it to 1 of my 3 computers. But I love the product itself. There are so many things that this offers that the Office 2003 did not have. Once you play with it and get to know its new format, I think it is even easier than the 03 version. I do Excell the most and I am very pleased with this so far.

    Office 2013 is fine

On the plus side, Office 2013 is still Office - i.e., the standard for powerful presentations, word processing, and spreadsheets. It might not be any *better* than the Office 2007 I used on my other PC. But it's no worse. Since I needed to purchase Office for my new PC, buying 2013 to me is no different than 2007 - same functionality (maybe a little more, with time), and comparable price. The only negative I have is that Office 2013 continues Microsoft's trend toward bland. I can't see color in anything they create anymore. Window titles are gray. Or worse, transparent. Perhaps it's because I have poor color vision anyway, but it's gotten to be almost impossible to tell which window (or app) is the active one. Office 2013 is unfortunately joining Windows (and IE) in this trend.

I've been using MS Office for at least a decade and Microsoft keeps surprising me. This 2013 has so few installation steps that I thought something was wrong. No more selecting what to install. Just activate it via de website, launch the installer and in less then 10 min, everything is ready to use. The interface is very clean and even thought a lot of buttons show on the bars, it's very easy to find what you want. I came from Office 2010 for PC and 2011 for Mac, so there not a all lot to add besides the cleanliness of the interface. Also, $140 is a bit expensive, but Office is a must have.

    Good for Home Use

I prefer to have Office loaded directly onto my PC, versus the new "rent it by the month" subscription model. The one drawback when used with Windows 10 is the "One Drive" where it is very difficult to keep it from loading any and all of your documents to the One Drive Cloud.

This version of Office does everything you expect Office to do. It is strange to download something this expensive and not have a disk or such, but I am just old like that. It will not write papers for you, so that is a bummer.
