We had another Toshiba that needed a repair due to a keyboard issue and went to the store to ask about pricing for the repair and we're told that they had a special on this particular laptop and could get it for not much more than a repair would be plus it had more memory. We dedided to make the purchase and are so glad we did. Our new computer is fast and we also were able to purchase programs our daughter needed to help her in school that will carry on into college. I feel that the computer will be able to meet all of her needs in the coming years and I am appreciative of the Best Buy staff for their knowledge and honesty at the time when we needed help. We always shop there because of that and because of the warranty and repair services like Geek-squad. I started to purchase a Mac pro but this meets our needs and they could have made more money if we did but instead were honest about what product would meet our need for her age type.

once installed, good word/office program, but installation was a NIGHTMARE!!!!!! It took Geek Squad 3+ hours to install, and that was after I input all info correctly from the card (not a CD) and was then not recognized by their site. I will only buy programs using a CD-install after this.

The product is a good product. Installation of the software caused me problems and I had to call for assistance. Customer service provided assistance but it was a lengthy installation. I'm not sure I could have ever completed it by myself.. Item is now installed and working well. I have recommended this to another friend,, who, in turn, purchased it.

Using the same thing that I have used at work for decades makes things very seamless.

Still getting use to it. So far so good. The one time purchase price is a better deal than the one year product purchase price.

This is a unique one of a kind purchase. I loved it! It might my needs and exceeding my expectations. Its a great buy and will last me through the years! Highly recommended

I believe the Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) are must haves to the product itself is fine. The price, however, I believe is to high. And, I don't care for their purchasing options (continual fee for a subscription, buy it but can only put on one computer). Just another unnecessary way to get dollars out of the customer.

Unfortunately, you need this software, and you have to pay for it. But that's the way it is. Your stuck on the price, but it does what you need it to. Better to go with the permanent option than the yearly subscription.

Word is excellent, Excel in workable for budgets and finances.

I purchased this product to update from an earlier version when I purchased my new laptop a year ago. No worrying with the disc to install. All you do is enter your 25 character product key, create a user name and password, download and your done. Office Home and Student 2013 is great.

The software has many awesome features but the adjustments that have to be made to transition from Windows 7 to 8 is considerable. The simple operational functions of writing and saving a document, of utilizing email, of making a search, etc. is different and takes some instruction. I have explored its use, experimented to find out how the software works, sought tutorials, etc. and I still feel I am learning the basics. Once I get therel, I think I will feel that it will be worth it... but I am not there yet! What I found with other Window products was the 'intuitive' sense that the software incorporates. I am not finding this so much with Windows 8. Admittedly, I may simply need to get myself up-to-speed to truly appreciate the sophistication of the software!

Very useful and needed for a lot of school work. My teen daughter needed it. I only regret that Microsoft will only let it be installed on one computer. Why not allow me to put it on all my machines, since I purchased it?

I'm assuming must people know what Microsoft office is by now, so I won't get into that. the price is a little bit up there, I was disappointed when I found out it didn't come pre installed in my new laptop, but other than that, it is what it is. I had an issue getting it to work with my printer software, but since I resolved that it has worked fine.

I'm normally very thorough with my reviews, and would like to be here, but I don't see much point. This is Office: It delivers in every way that we would expect from Microsoft. Each of the programs are very useful for a plethora of reasons, and the programs haven't lost any appeal with this model. I would highly recommend this program to others.

home office is easy and simple to use, with useful features

Bought this for the wife. She uses this all the time for scrapbooking, maintaining bulletins at our church and for general journalism. She writes articles for local papers, so this was a must have for her. Before we had Office, other writers would send her drafts in an format she couldn't open without Office, so we needed to do end arounds with Word.

I like to set up all maintenance for house and car. I also graph out expenses for the year. Use to list all medical records and appts to research for payments with insurance.

I like how you don't have to have a subscription to Office 365 to use Office 2013. It may be the last "non-subscription" Office in history, so get it when you still can!!!!
