Customers are saying

Customers have good things to say about the ease of use, price, and the inclusion of Word, Excel, and PowerPoint in Office Home & Student 2019. Many appreciate the software's performance and straightforward installation process. While some users wish for Outlook to be included and for the product to offer ongoing updates, the overall feedback highlights its value for its core applications. The lack of a subscription model is also frequently cited as a positive aspect.

Computer had been working fine until now. After one year of having it the power connection has failed. No matter how I wiggle the wire, power is not getting to the computer. No, this wasn't the most expensive computer out there but I thought Dell was a reputable brand. Didn't expect to have to buy another computer after a year simply because I can't charge it. Very disappointed.

I have had two major issues with the program. After an extremely long phone call a few weeks ago it got fixed. Now there is another issue. I tried calling as I am a geek squad member but there was a huge wait time. I know it’s Holiday time, but for me not to be able to get help without waiting an hour n hold then another hour or more for the issue to get fixed.... shame on Best But.

I bought this for school, but it literally doesn’t work! You put the product key code in and it will not let you hit the next botton and go to the next step, nothing happens! I called Microsoft and they were also no help at all. I spent 130 dollars for a program that doesn’t work. You get zero stars!

    Complete Dissatisfaction with Best Buy

I bought Microsoft Office from BEST BUY two weeks ago and have spent 3.5 HOURS talking to their tech and Customer Service people to get the product downloaded. No Luck. I have bought 3 items from best buy in the last year and have had great difficulty and complete dissatisfaction with all three purchases. I am going to cancel my order and all future dealings with Best Buy today.

Finally got it downloaded after fighting with Windows. Now I can't use it as Windows won't let me get to it without a 3 digit pin. They also want a password and everyone I make it accepts and then rejects. I am so tired of Windows and their passwords I gave up on Office use. So that is money wasted. This new Windows is absolutely ridiculous and useless. They should have left well enough alone.

Very little quality for the price. Changes made do not enhance ease-of-use. Very expensive to not include Outlook, about the only thing Microsoft has ever done right. Obviously Microsoft want you to do a more profitable subscription to their services. I guess Bill Gates doesn’t have enough money. Wish I had purchased an apple.

I bought this after being told that it included Outlook. I was having issues with the version i had, and decided i needed to upgrade. I then tried to return it as it was not as primised (by Geek Squad that I am also paying for), and was told that it couldn't be returned. Best Buy 800 customer service said the store should refund, and the store said 800 service should. This soured my on BB forever.

I purchased this with the need for outlook as well as excell. To my disappointment this product does not have outlook under its liscencing. I was lead to believe that it had all of the Microsoft office programming. Why else would it be called Microsoft office home and student? Don't students and home users need email?

I do not like this edition of Microsoft Office at all. My husband insisted on installing it on new computer. I just can't figure the program out so I installed my old version of Microsoft Office. I do have a problem at times opening new Word documents which is another reason I don't like it. It should open these newer Word docs but it won't.

Was sent software for a new computer that I hadn't even gotten yet and can't get in touch with them to resend the link for the software. I've tried to call (one hour wait time), emailed and tried to Chat with them, but no one is ever available. Had gotten emails several times a day saying my computer is on the way. The next email said my order was cancelled.

Exactly What It Sounds Like, Core Office 2019

These are the permanent versions of the Office applications we all know and tolerate. It is getting a bit harder lately to get these versions and not to have to pay for a recurring subscription for access to Office 365 (cloud based). As a user of Office 2003, 2007, 2010, 2013, and 2016 for both work and/or personal use, this was my first exposure to Office 2019. I'll just focus on the things I noticed that were different and that I might use more than a few times, from the prior 2016 version: Noticeable new features in Word is focus mode, which darkens everything except the "page" you are working on, supposedly letting you focus on the task at hand. The text to speech learning tool also works surprisingly well for dictating to a document. I've never used the fancier features on PowerPoint, but the new thing that stuck out to me was the ability to export your presentation as a 4K high resolution video file. OneNote is now called OneNote for Windows 10 (not available for Mac apparently, but I'm not a Mac user, so I don't know the history of OneNote on Macs). Thing I noticed most was Ink to Text, which works well at converting your scribbles to typed text. In a related note, digital stylus/pen support is present in all the programs, if you have the required hardware to fiddle with that sort of thing. I think you can even do things with different pressures and angle of the pen. Not something I do very often. My handwriting is fairly horrible on paper, let alone on a digital screen. Excel is mostly unchanged from my view, although there might be some more formulas I didn't recognize. I did read a review about support for timeline and maps, but I haven't stumbled across them in my forays into Excel charts this month. All in all, if you need the core Office programs on a new computer, will be fine using the same programs with no new features for 4 or so years to justify the cost, AND don't want to pony up for a Office 365 subscription, then this is a good investment.
