My last visit to Geek Squad made the most progress in securing my laptop's easy access to others. Password to unlock laptop was not in place. I will keep you updated. Thank you

I did yesterday, and Best Buy sent me a key code, the problem being Microsoft wouldn’t accept it. An hour online with support, who couldn’t do anything. Two calls to their, um, “support,” who dutifully took all the info on me they already had and then disconnected me. I am never mean yo support staff, as it’s never their fault, but enough is enough, but once is an error, twice is the finger. I’m getting a credit from my credit card, and I’m so done with Best Buy.

Apparently, they don't active the card before shipping it to you. When trying to use the card, Microsoft threw an error that the card hasn't been activated by the merchant and to contact the merchant for help. I contacted best buy, but the only solution provided was to drive to the nearest best buy to activate the card. However, all the stores are closed until further notice because of the pandemic.

No problems downloading any other software- JUST OFFICE. I had to call Technical Support to find out why there software is the only software I can’t download. They said my network is stopping it and they can fix it for another $99.00. Yeah right! What a gimmick! I’m sure Best Buy knows about this extortion tactic by Microsoft. Taking this Back to Best Buy!!!!!

Sorry to hear about the issues installing Office 2019. If you just purchased your copy last week, you shouldn't be getting asked to pay for support as that comes free for the first 60 days that you had it. Did you happen to contact our support teams through here? https://support.office.com/en-us/home/contact?contactUsExperienceEntryPointAssetId=S.HP.Main

With Office Home & Student 2019, you are able to receive software updates. You'll need to manually install these updates, however. To learn more about Office Home & Student updates, follow this link: https://support.office.com/en-us/article/Install-Office-updates-2ab296f3-7f03-43a2-8e50-46de917611c5
Additionally, you can purchase Outlook as a standalone app from the Microsoft store to add to your existing software.
