Won't Work
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this to have the ability to chat while gaming online, the only problem is it doesn't work. Not sure if I got a dud, or what, but I will be returning this. If you want a decent headset definitely spend the $ on a decent one.

Good Headset
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a good headset for online gaming. You won't have any problems speaking to and hearing your opponents. The best feature of this headset is that it stays put and is very lightweight. As some of the wireless headsets have been known to fall off your ear if you move to much. This headset's only downfall is that it's attached to the controller by a wire, and that gets annoying. Especially if you pause to get up, you have to constantly take it off, and put it back on, rather than just walking away like you would with a wireless headset. Overall a great headset I've never had a problem with it, and for the price you really can't argue with that.

Love/hate relationship
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So a lot of people say this headset is junk and what have you. Well, I have to say the earpiece sounds fine, others can hear me fine - isn't that all a headest is designed to do? People on here advocate buying these ridiculous Turtle Beach headsets and other alternatives except all the alternatives are those big honking noise isolating kind. I used to think that would be better too, and after going through two headsets since I bought my 360 at launch I decided to try another one - this time a Motorola headset. Let me tell you, the Motorola is a pain to use it cuts off too much sound from the game on the headset (the ear piece isolates the sound of the game in the ear it's worn on). Constantly the microphone crackles and pops - but never with this cheap little headset. Go figure... Now my Motorola headset is broke and I paid $30 for it...so now I need another headset and I'm buying one of these again. Don't look at those Turtle Beach headsets - they're all designed for you to plug them into your TV so all your in-game sound comes through the headset (So it's not just voices). If you're a home theater buff like me who has a nice full range high quality surround system you don't want to use a $60 headset for ALL the sound in your games (I don't care what kind of speakers Turtle Beach uses in their headphones - it won't compare to a full range 5.1/7.1 DTS and THX enabled surround setup)...this cheap headset allows you to still hear sound without muffling your hearing much and it's low cost so when you have to buy another one it's not too bad (Although a tip - don't throw it because thats the fast way to break it). No one else to my knowledge makes a nice headset that doesn't totally muffle one side of your hearing or completely force you to use it as headphones and not just a HEADSET. This is your only option if you want a headset that doesn't muffle the sound too badly.

New and improved?
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Apparentlyt he old headsets, which featured a proprietary connection on the controller, were not functioning well, or a new company was picked to do the the headsets. First off, the old ones didn't seem to function well, i have one of the older ones that don't seem to make contact correctly because of the way proprietary connection works. My mic will show as constantly transmitting on xbox live even though i'm saying nothing and even when i cover the mic itself. That, and recently my controller has unexpectedly shut down even with full battery life, though when i disconnect the mic, no problems. SO... i buy this new one, works fine, sensitivity is correct, no worries. The ONE problem, the volume and mute switch are on the cord as though it were a cell phone headset. So you may have trouble using during actual gameplay, the old version featured these controls at the connection to the controller, maybe that's why it didn't work right. Also, i've noticed the connection is essentially the mini mic jack that most cell phone accessories use, i recall trying one before buying the actual headset, before i had xbox live. I found out that no matter what headset you have, it won't work if you don't have an xbox live account, so you may also want to try some of those hands free sets thay may be lying around your house. I still recommend buying the combo xbox live 3 month/controller/400 points pack. you save 10 bucks and get the points for free essentially.

THERE ARE ALTERNATIVES FOR CHEAPER!!!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.my first headset lasted awhile but did eventually break. so i bought the wireless version but those are pretty uncomfortable so i never really use it. i got a wired one with my new elite. used that one for a week or two and i come home to the wire chewed in two by one of my cats, i tried to repair it but to no avail. so my wife bought me a new one and it was chewed through within days! she said she was gonna buy me another one, but i told her that was way to expensive just for the cats eat again. so i looked for an alternative. i had the idea to try a mobile phone headset. They Work! any headset with a 2.5mm plug will work with a 360 controller! just dont get ones that are stereo headphones with a mic in one cable they have a constant fuzzy sound. you can even get a computer headset and buy a 3.5mm -> 2.5mm adapter! thats what i did to replace my skullcandy headset (i saved $20 by buying a microsoft computer headset and adapter over buying a new SkullCandy lowrider 360 headset) Come on people $20 for basic 360 headset, wake up and go over to the mobile phone section and buy cooler looking headsets for $9.99 or even Better headsets for $20!
