This was bought for a 10 year old. It is a great item, he can speak and hear clearly on it. It enhances the gaming experience when playing on Xbox live.

I got this headset in the 360 box . It worked ok ,but after awhile of gameing it got uncomfortable on my head. It also had a problem of not letting me speak because my bottom piece of the mic. kept on getting turned a ertain way. Today i notice it wouldn't let me talk so a bent it allitle and it worked for a sec, then the part that connects to the controler broke off and got stuck in the controler and i had to poke it through the hole and take apart the controller to get the peice out.

i bought this about january of '09 and it just broke yesterday 2-6-10. its a great controller but its really fragile, i took care of it every day but i let my guard down yesterday and someone stepped on it and the thing that wraps around your head snapped off. also the thing that covers the mic falls OFF and its very small and hard to find and thing that covers the ear speaker ripped after about 6 months overall very good but a limited life

Purchased this headset for my son, who broke a more expensive headset. It is a good replacement and he hasn't had any complaints

This headset has fairly okay quality in voice hearing. You have to speak a little louder than normal for people to hear you though. It fits decently over the head, but not so comfortable to wear. The wires are a little annoying when playing online. The controls on the headset are easy to use, but the volume could have been louder. Overall, this headset is decent for the money.

This product works great! I bought the protection plan just incase but haven't had to use it.

This product works just fine if you use it the way it is meant to be used... with a chat pad. Using it alone brings about the various audio issues that most here complain about. The only complaint I have is that it is a bit too fragile and I am on my third one now. Other than that, a great little piece for not too much money. I have the Turtle Beach setup also, but use this when I want to game using my 6.1 dts Surround Sound, which a set of headphones can't accurately reproduce.

I personally enjoyed this headset over the 2 i bought used. ( my buddy has this one). you do not hae to worry as much about the internal cords ripping at the end of the cord like the old ones and it feels lighter then the old one. A problem though: it will take some time to get used to since the part you enter in the controller is different.

If you just want a headset to use then this would be good for you. DO NOT BUY THE WIRELESS HEADSET!!! IT WILL BREAK!!! I had 4 or 5 of them and they all broke within a month! If you are looking for a nice, comfortable, and high tech mic, buy the TURTLE BEACH. It plays all the sound of the game and players talking all through the headset. Also, the headset used for Major League Gaming is the ASTRO MLG Pro Headset. It is about $250.00 but well worth it. Otherwise if you are just looking for a mic to talk with your friends or be able to just communicate, this is a good buy.

Headset works great, exactly what was needed. I would recommend this product to anyone.

This headset will break very easy but works pretty good until then. if you drop, sit, or as little as roll over on it, it WILL break. I have broke 2 and 1 has stoped working. also i have lost the foam cover slip (thing you speak into) on two of them and the one i am currently using dont have one. so all together i have spent $60 on this same headset. Maybe its just my luck, but my experiance with this headset has been god awful.

This headset comes standard with almost any Xbox 360, and many starter kits. Its pretty simple and easy to use, though not very comfortable. It'll get you through any online session, but I've noticed myself and many of my friends who have this headset have had problems with it breaking ALL THE TIME. Bottom line, its great if you just need a quick cheap headset to play online and don't have much money, but if you want something that's going to last and be a bit more comfortable, I suggest you look elsewhere.

well ive had mine for about 6 months and there good do the job but if your an intense player and crank up the volume u cant hear anyone in your party and kinda sucks so just spend the extra 30$ and get some over ear ones which are amazing and sound quality is pretty amazing for the job..

This headset is a great one. I broke the one that came with my system and still just got the replacement. The wire is kind of annoying to have around but i have heard alot of bad things about the wireless headsets. Is a great product but didnt get a 5 because it seems so fragile.

This is an excellent headset, definitely better than its xbox predecessor that breaks easily. If you are buying a new gaming headset, this is well worth the price. By the way, the newer version is better since it can go with any system with a corresponding jack.

This mic is better that those cheap ones that come with your system. it broke cause it fell like 5feet off the ground. this ones are a lot better.

i think it's pretty reliable and ive had it for a long while now even though i plan on getting the turtle beach headset, didn't break yet and works pretty good. the down side is that it pulls my hair when i try to pull it off :]

I dunno why people are bashing on this product. Personally I don't think it's bad at all. I can hear people just fine and they can hear me 'trash talk' just fine too. :P It's affordable and as I said in the headline: "it does the job." I was debating on the expensive wireless headset by microsoft but I didn't want to spend that much more money to trash talk. Like the othe reviews here, I agree that Mircosoft needs to make their accessories in different colors such as BLACK. I could almost promise their sales would improve a lot in the accessorie department. Bottom line: great headset if you want something that's afforable and does the job.

its ok, not the best but for the price that it is at anyone can get it but they break waaay to easily for me. id rather get the wireless but this would still work.

If you're broke and only can afford a few bucks make the buy and save for a better one. Just make sure that when this does die on you you have the money for the wireless one, unlike me... haha. I usually don't game much so I figured that I'd just buy this temporarily. Well, then I started playing a lot and after about 4 months it died on me. I don't even talk that much but I like to listen and chime in while playing Black Ops.
