The downside are no on/off switch on the keyboard, no caps lock indicator, ctrl key doesn't hold when you press and hold the key. Return it after two days of use and went back to logitech.

Getting support from Microsoft was a pain for an accessory but I eventually got through to the right person. The key was getting to the Surface Accessories support, which solved the problem, even though this is not an accessory I was using with a Surface device. Anyways, take a picture of the serial number on the box. It is your key to registering the device and getting support

My computer started going to sleep after a few minutes and not waking up. And yes, I check the power settings and did about 9 other fixes I found in YT tech videos. Eventually, it got so bad I did a factory reset on my computer. The computer was back to normal. After a few days of testing without a keyboard, I plugged it back in. Within a few hours, I was right back to where I started. And bummer for me the return date has passed - so I'm stuck with a $100+ keyboard.

The receiver sticks WAY out of the laptop. When my computer bag (all zipped and laptop secured in the pocket) fell off the office chair, the receiver broke because it was sticking out. It also damaged the usb port on my new laptop. Now, it does not work. Called MS to get a replacement receiver and got the run around. The reps claimed the receiver is replaceable but there is no way to buy one. But, after researching, found out the receiver is NOT replaceable. You have to buy a whole new unit. I will NEVER buy a MS hardware again.
