I paid a premium to get the OEM charging cord. Other, cheaper, alternatives may have worked. Judge for yourself if it is worth the extra money. It's hard to say. Some have issues with the cheaper cords, while a larger number say they work fine. I was worried it a non-Microsoft cord would damage my Surface Pro.

Works just as described, pretty straight forward. Hopefully the dog doesn't get ahold of this one :)

Glad I brought my Microsoft laptop to the store so the Agent was able to check the model of my surface laptop. Everything worked.

This is the third charger I’ve had to purchase for my computer. They seem to crack and expose wires around the fat end of the charger cord. I see no signs of that happening (so far) with this cord. The other two chargers, where two different brands and a lot less expensive.

The Surface Power Supply works great. It is fast charging when you need a quick charge.

I mean if you own a surface you basically have no options, They charge a lot for theses but I have heard bad things about the ones they sell online that are not the real deal microsoft cords. So yeah you need it you might as well pony up.

I bought this as a secondary charging cord, for travel. It charges faster than the original power cord that comes with the Surface Pro 6. I enjoy the extra USB port in the charging block, definitely comes in handy! Highly recommend.
