Switched from MacBook
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this surface book for my wife for Valentine's Day. I was worried that she wouldn't like it coming from a MacBook. This surface book is a game changer. No looking back.

Surface Laptop
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had a surface pro 3 and loved it. This laptop has all same functionality but is bigger and heavier. Added advantage of longer battery life is good. Minus- you can't fold over to a table tent.

Impressed
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I decided to make this purchase after my 9 year old mac finally had to be retired. I was extremely hesitant at first being that I am a MacBook user. I only really needed the computer for lesson planning and for personal use (nothing crazy). So I read the reviews for the surface pro and was sold. I went into the store and this young guy helped me out and recommended the surface book. Since the keyboard was stronger than the surface pro. Once I was able to compare the surface pro and the surface book. I knew the surface book was going to be perfect fit for what I needed. I've had it for two months now and I don't have any complains..

Pretty Happy So Far
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I really like the painting program and process. I am still learning and hope to move to more complicated painting software soon. My remote access is not great but this may take more tweaking. I hope to find a way to capture handwriting to text that is more effective. Again this may be a matter of finding the right software. I do believe there is lots of potential with this laptop. I went to the store and tried this machine vs. another tablet for drawing/painting. The other was easier and had more stuff to begin with, but as I was informed you hit a wall with it and this being a laptop means so many software options to grow into.

Great touch screen laptop
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The thought of having a flexible laptop that doesn't tie me to a keyboard and a mouse is just so superb. I t turns to a touch screen or a tablet yet it's a laptop. I love it!

Great--just not perfect
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'm a huge fan of the Book. It's smart, secure, and transitions seamlessly from laptop mode to tablet mode whenever you want to use it for different things. It's also a more powerful machine with a better screen than the Surface Pro (which comes out to a similar price when you purchase the keyboard). My only complaint is that it's not lightning fast. I'm used to how quickly desktop PCs and Apple tablets open apps and programs and move from one app to another. With the Surface Book there's always a bit of a delay, which always feels like an eternity given now impatient people are with technology these days. Overall though I have no regrets with the purchase. Seems like excellent bang for your buck.

Great laptop/tablet combo for general everyday use
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was looking for a laptop/tablet combo to use mainly for email, Word, Powerpoint, Excel, and video streaming. I really wanted a surface, but I actually tried the HP Spectre x360 first to save money. Both HP Spectres I got from Best Buy were defective, and I ended up just buying the Surface since it was on sale and I had a student discount. So far, I LOVE it. It's been perfect for what I want. The keyboard is nice. The touchpad is nice. Videos look great. The only weird thing I've noticed so far is that there are no dedicated buttons for screen brightness, but that's fine. I would definitely recommend this product.

Very mixed on this tablet/laptop.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I never cared for tablets. I like PC towers. Years ago we bought a Ipad 2 and was disappointed about how limited it was in terms of doing anything. So recently we decided to buy a "laptop". We went to bestbuy but most laptops seem be relics at this points now that tablets and "2 in 1"s are out. So after talking to someone we know at BB they recommended the Microsoft Surface Book. It uses Win 10 and can be used as either a tablet or notebook/laptop. I did like the fact I could use the pen to draw in Photoshop with it. But so far I am disappointed. Don't get me wrong its nice to have it for when you go places and obviously can't bring a PC. But it has almost no ports on it. It has a slot for SD card, 2 USB 3.0 ports and a audio jack for headpones. Which is good for basics but not much else. It also has no DVD drive. We had to buy one separate. At least its able to connect to our PC through out network so we can access/save files on the PC. If not for that it would be to much effort to transfer things all the time from it to a flashdrive and then to the PC. Its also not super powerful like a PC. The harddrive is only 128gigs. Which isn't much at all. However the bottom does easily open up if you want to add a bigger harddrive. It also doesn't come with any real software. So we had to buy Microsoft's "Word" program separate. It also has a "app" store since its Win 10. But I can't stand the store or Win 10s look. Thankfully there are programs online that make it look more like Win 7 or even Win XP if you want. Another negative is we usually buy the ZAGG Shields to protect the screen. Well BB only sells the "HD Glass" one which people don't rate well because it lowers the touch screens sensitivity to much. Which defeats the purpose of touchscreen/drawing if you bought it for that reason. You can but the regular HS non-glass version online but its $65. And people said the Surfacebook is so big that its very hard to install without bubbles or other issues occurring. So overall I don't think the Surfacebook is good, but its also not terrible either. But its what we are stuck with now that laptops are fading away. If you want pure power but a PC, if you want a bit less power and choices buy a Surfacebook. Oh one detail you should know is the few laptops they had were only like $150. Where as the new technology of tablets and "2 in 1"s cost over a $1,000 EASILY for anything even remotely good.

Best Laptop Ever!! :)
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased the Microsoft Surface book a few weeks ago. I was a little hesitant, as it's a little more than I wanted to spend... but it is 100% worth the money. I love the versatility of using it as a traditional laptop, disconnecting the screen to become a tablet, or reversing the screen for a different display. I have only scratched the surface (pun intended :) ) with learning about the great features and apps available. I can't wait to discover more cool things about my new Surface Book. I am extremely happy with this purchase, and would recommend it to anyone looking for a reliable, versatile laptop.

Lots of capability in a convenient package.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Love this machine. It is powerful, has lots of capabilities, and comes in a very convenient package. I've now used it as both a tablet and a laptop, and love it in both configurations. I'm a genealogist, and it is a perfect machine for use at my desk, or to take into genealogical libraries, courthouses, etc. to record the things I find there. It has plenty of room in internal ROM for the things that are better kept on the machine and, of course, the additional power of plenty of storage on the cloud. That is extremely important to me. My husband bought this for me as a birthday gift. Now he wants one.

Microsoft needs quality control in software patche
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We had made up our mind to get a Microsoft Surface Pro 4 and ended up getting a Surface book bowled over by the looks of it . I must admit the looks are perfect , hardware is excellent and it's an excellent product coming from the Microsoft Stable. Having said that , I still feel Microsoft released a half basked product in the market . The Software part of it is really pathetic. After I got my laptop I had to do tons of updates. One of the firmware updates messed up the Camera . Display drivers kept on crashing when accessing normal websites like Macy's and JP penny . I didn't expect such inconvenience after paying a premium price for this product and returned it and replaced with a Mac .

Great but learning curve
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Love the surface, so fast, handles lots of open apps at the same time. There is a learning curve to get it set up and learn how to use the pen, one note and all the features. Overall great
