Great Computer and extremely versatile
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am very happy with this computer. I have had a few small issues with switching in and out of tablet mode, but overall it is great. I am very happy with the ability to detach the screen and use as a tablet. I bought a protective case for this device with gives me a extra level of confidence when using the tablet a lot. And, it gives me good place to store the pen. The magnetic connection on the side of the screen is nice, but the pen will still get knocked off if putting it in a backpack.

Overpriced garbage. Buy a different OEM.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. For the same brains, it's unnecessarily hundreds of dollars more than a comparable Surface Pro, with no upside other than a larger screen. In comparison to which, this Surface Book is bulky, heavy, awkward and glitchy. The sensitivity of the touchpad for accidental taps while typing is terrible, and incredibly frustrating. Windows has become a bit smarter about this but retraining yourself to type uncomfortably when used in your lap uncomfortable and a problem for people with ergonomic issues. Overall, this was a good foray for Microsoft, but an under-designed and incomplete product. When closed, the Book takes up more space than seems necessary due to the bulky base not "folding" all the way. I only own this machine because I need access to programs that require Windows, and it's a chore to own. Graphics are under-powered, so it's hard to make a case for the existence of why this thing exists? Perhaps to be used as a workhorse tablet only, with the occasional use of a bulky, dedicated keyboard? Why not make the bases purchasable so that you can upgrade the GPU, or at least upgrade anything? This machine is so much more disappointing than the Surface Pro 4, which was also not a great execution. For the same price premium, I would recommend a Macbook (Pro), which has a decade of user testing and design improvements over MS's entry. So many questions and design flaws, and so few answers.

Awesome Laptop
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I hate to admit that this laptop supercedes the performance of an Apple Computer. I love this thing.

Most of what we wanted
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My wife was disappointed that she couldn't read her magazines on line like she could with her Samsung tablet. We added a 128GB SD card but it sticks out too far- could easily catch on something and cause the device to slip out of the hand. I was surprised it wouldn't insert flush. Had to return the SD card, buy a microSD card and an undersized SD carrier that inserted flush- not really much more expensive but certainly a hassle. Overall, very pleased. Printed page resolution is excellent.

This product keeps freezing
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This product keeps freezing and I have to keep separating the tablet from keyboard and waiting for it to restore and/or hold down the power to restart it and I even had to factory restart it and it hasn't improved that much - shame, when I works it's quite good #returningit

Great 2 in 1 device!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this as a gift for my sister. She's a hard working pharmacy student and her old laptop was a clunker to say the least. With this she's able to take notes easily in tablet mode and use all of her necessary software for tests and exams. The only complaint she's had has been updates aren't always the most user friendly and the mouse pad needs some getting used to thus the 4/5 instead of 5/5 stars. Otherwise a great and speedy device that should last her at least another 3 years.

Moving in the right direction

Excellent product; new operator needs instruction.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I wish there were instructions on how to operate and use Windows 10. For recently retired user who came from being continually supported by IT professionals to now having to visit the Geek Squad in person and on the phone to get the easiest of questions answered (no matter how friendly) I wish Best Buy would offer classes by professional trainers who know both Surface Book and Windows 10. i willingly would pay enrollment fee.
