    Love my new eBook!

Geek Squad replaced my 3-year Surface PRO2 tablet that had the blue screen of death which was covered under the protection plan with the Surface Book. I am impressed with the display/screen quality and the sound of the speakers. I love the sleek design and beautiful silver color. It is slim and very lightweight. The only downside is that there is a slight delay with the touchpad/mouse movement which I am not sure how to adjust. Not a huge fan of Windows 10 but trying to adapt. Love my new Surface Book!

    Decided to return

I had high expectations for this machine. After a week of ownership I decided to return. Don't get me wrong this machine had some very impressive attributes from Microsoft. My reasoning for returning was that it was just missing something for the price point. Screen quality was excellent, battery life was unbelievable, and was very portable. So why return it? Windows 10 still produces many "bugs" with this particular device. After updates, the camera would not function properly for Windows Hello, the Edge browser would freeze constantly, and Google Chrome would use excessive processor resources, cause the device to become hot, and have the fans constantly on. Being that the product was launched in October 2015 I would expect for a flagship device that they would've been ironed out by now. My other complaint was with the build quality. The vapor magnesium shell was impressive but I found many imperfections with the device, especially on the back. In the middle just below the Windows logo there was an area that wasn't very rigid. I was able to depress the center where there appeared to be a bulge. There was also a build mark in the same area that presented as an indentation. I confirmed that this was not a flaw with my particular machine by returning to the store and examining the display model. To spend 1500.00 for an i5 processor on a flagship device I had higher hopes. I am a Windows fan and hope that they can improve on a second generation model. If you're on the fence, I would suggest waiting for a newer version or a lower price point.

We purchased a base model SurfaceBook Pro for use at an medical office. Very easy to setup and deploy. Accuracy on the device using the Surface Pen is incredible. Price is higher than other devices in this class with the same hardware specs, but the display and surface pen makes up the difference.

Quality build, flexible design ultra bright screen

Purchased Surface Book, Surface Pro 4 and new Samsung AITV 9 Swing and spent a week comparing them. As you can imagine if I could take the best features of each they would make the perfect laptop but I settled on the Surface Book because of the solid build and it provided the most flexibility and balance for desktop, travel and entertainment. I've come to realize that buying a laptop is like buying a car (at least for me).

I purchased the Surface Book with the intentions of loving the product--especially after owning the Surface Pro 3 for several months, but boy, was I wrong. The Book gets a lot of things right including its premium design, beautiful display, and possibly the best keyboard on a Windows machine. Despite these amazing strides, there are several things the product gets wrong (whether this is intentional on Microsoft's side, that much has yet to be seen). The number of software bugs is baffling. From power management problems to yellow tints that randomly show up during web browsing, I unfortunately had to go through two Surface Books before I decided to just purchase a Pro 4.

I LOVE my new Surface Book; nothing else comes even close to it. I was torn between an Apple Tablet or a regular desktop, but I also liked the idea of have laptop/PC capabilities. This has everything I wanted and is light to carry, performance if great. I haven't regretted my decision once.

screen and keyboard are good. Time used as laptop and pad is about 90-10 split but both works great. Have been use it for about 2 month and no major issues One tiny issue is the fan noise with intensive usage but it is not that bad compared with my experience with surface pro 4.

I use my computer for photo editing and minor gaming, it runs well with tons of images and tabs on my browser. It can get a little hot but I can deal with that. I dislike how when I attach my device it sometimes doesn't recognize the keyboard. Screen is amazing!

Best computer I've owned in my adult life! I upgraded from the Surface Pro 3 and am glad that I went with the Book, rather than the Pro 4. The display is AMAZING, it's wicked fast, the computer itself is light, and the tablet part is even lighter than my iPad!

It is hard to find fault with this product. I have never been much of a fan of Microsoft products. But, this beast oozes quality. It's sturdy, solid and I fell in love at first sight! The screen resolution is awesome and every color pops out. The keyboard has decent travel and makes typing great! The backlight is plenty bright. The screen itself is plenty bright even outdoors. And the pen- is great with perfect amount of friction to feel like a real pen when using it. I love the product and would definitely recommend it.

I spent more than I wanted to, but I have zero complaints about my new Surface Pro. I like the weight, I like the sturdiness of the metal frame, the pen, the backlit keyboard, the facial recognition, the great speakers. I work on my Surface Pro and play on it. I have no other computer, though I do have a smaller more portable tablet. I only use it in tablet mode when I don't have my other tablet with me-- but that has happened once! This is a great little piece of tech.

Overall, this is a great device! The computer is fast, the screen is a sharp 3k x 2k resolution, and its relatively thin. Pros: Fast boot up time Surface Pen/Digitizer is amazing and convenient Thin Trackpad is nice (reminds me of the MacBook trackpad) Computer screen resolution is amazing Cons Doesn't bend back very far Not very durable

Looks cool, but it is not there yet. First, it is way too heavy. The tablet portion has only 4-hour battery and has no ports, and so it does not have much use without the keyboard. Second, the touch pad is not even close to Mac Book Pro or Air. Is it hardware or OS limitation? In any case, Mac Book Pro is felt more comfortable. Third, Windows 10 is better than 8, but to be a touchable OS, it has to be dramatically simplified. Don't expect the user to use a finger to touch on a small item. If one needs light weight Windows machine for business, I would suggest Yoga or Mac Air with Windows Virtual Box.

I am pretty happy with the purchase. The Surface Pro 4 is pretty well made and I have had no problems turning it on and doing the quick update online. Laptops that I have are going to be of no use now hopefully. The feature I like the most about this tablet is it has got the best battery life of 10 hours and it is so light.

I bought this laptop for my sister. She needed a good laptop plus a way to take notes. This fit the bill perfectly. Even four years later this is still a great product. She doesn't use the tablet mode as often anymore, but she does use it as her main computing device.

The product is absolutely stunning visuals and performance is up to par. Can play world of Warcraft fine if needed to play. The pen is very accurate and writes like a ballpoint pen. The computer is fast as in the start up running webpages apps. The keyboard and the trackpad is very smooth and precise.

So I finally broke down and bought a new Surface Book. From the moment I opened the box I was hooked. What a beautiful product! I will mention that I had to do lots of updates at first "I think I had a surface book that had an early build date" but truly I don't mind that stuff. I have been an Windows 10 Insider since the beginning. Anyways, I bought the base model and found an awesome micro sd card holder that fits flush and have it coming to expand the disk space. But otherwise this surface book is perfect for me. very fast "Off to running in 17 seconds" and great battery life so far. Zero buyers remorse and I purchased a Samsung tab pro s first. That was nice but nothing like this. On and Windows Hello is amazing! I don't think I would ever need an i7 model because this thing rips. Thank you Microsoft and Best Buy!

Great screen, plagued by bugs and other problems

Really liked the feel of the keyboard. The screen was clear and bright, and the battery life was pretty good. I didn't like how you couldn't push the display back more than a little over 90 degrees, it made sitting with it on your lap or looking down at the screen while in laptop mode fairly awkward. Removing the display to use it as a tablet was pretty cumbersome, it takes two hands to grab it and pull up. Also, once you use it as a tablet it greatly reduces its battery life because it isn't utilizing the additional battery in the dock. The main issues that caused me to return the Surface Book stemmed from faulty driver issues. Sometimes the graphics would get distorted, especially when waking the laptop up from sleep. Also the wireless adapter would not always successfully connect to my router, it required me to reset the adapter to get it working. This occurred even after installing all the Surface updates directly from Microsoft's website. The real kicker came when I tried to use it to drive a 4K 28-inch monitor using the Surface dock. It caused the laptop to get really hot, obviously I was driving the built-in graphics chip too hard. Overall for the price I paid, I did not feel I was getting a good value spec and performance-wise. This is a first-generation device, so hopefully the next iteration will be much better improved.
