Box has been resealed by retailer & will return
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.A real disappointment to purchase a top of line product like this and find that original security labels had been removed from the box and another placed over the original but not quite perfectly. Remnants of original and of the same type are plainly visible under the new one. Although there may be a fine unit inside, accepting a computer in questionable packing is asking for trouble. I assume this was condoned by Microsoft since it is carried in the Microsoft department. The unit was shown as out of stock online at the local store but a unit was found in store. Unit was purchased at Wilmington, N.C. store on Weds., May, 11, 2016. Serial number 011609466157. We have been told that Microsoft does not allow open box Surface units to be sold in Best Buy stores. We did try Best Buy toll free customer service for clarification but due to extremely long hold times we were unable to talk to anyone in 3 attempts. Contacting Microsoft was not possible due to our not registering the product. We are Elite Plus members but don't have card handy.

WORST LAPTOP EVER BOUGHT
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I would not know where to even begin. It has basically taken me over 3 attempts to write this review because now this tragic mistake of a laptop has decided to unleash a new crazy where it keeps jumping to different screens when attempting to type. The display adapter is horrible and whenever in use, freezes, or switches off, or interferes with the computer and it freezes. There are times when the computer just goes blank and wont restart. I have had this thing for a year and it has been a complete nightmare. The first one had to be exchanged because it flat out didnt work. I would highly NOT recommend this to anyone. According to the salesperson at Best Buy, "this is the Lamborghini of laptops". More like the Yugo of laptops. Cannot wait to get my new HP laptop and burn this piece of junk.

Not what I expected...
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I got the Surface Book and literally fell in love with it. But literally after 12 DAYS, everything went haywire. I was binge watching Netflix and next thing I know my Surface Book tried to restart itself?? It went to this screen where it showed info abt the laptop "Configuration, Memory, About My Surface Book". I had no choice but to click the Restart option, and when I did, the screen kept flickering?? and it went to "Automatic Repairing Mode". I tried to force shut it down and everything, but no luck. Just remember, this is Windows FIRST laptop, so I wasn't surprised they had some issues, but these issues came up literally 12 days after my purchase. I didn't even bother to exchange it for another Surface Book, I went back and get a brand new MacBook (which I was using before).

Buy an Apple!!!!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Computer was awesome for the 3 weeks it worked! Microsoft does NOT stand behind their products! We bought this computer for our daughter as she began taking college classes her senior year and it failed her miserably! After three months and numerous phone calls tech support exchanged our computer for a refurbished one (despite the fact that we paid full price for a brand new defective product) which literally took 4 days to update and then worked for exactly one day!!!!! Now we have to start over with the long phone calls again!!! Luckily, she has her sister’s 7 year old MacBook Air which works wonderfully!! We just hate that we wasted $1500.00 on this laptop!!!

Not a good laptop
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've had this laptop for over 8 months now and the only thing I can say is that this is the worst laptop I have ever had. With a $1499 price tag it is supposed to be a premium laptop but it's not. It receives so many updates and they are not making it better, as a matter of fact after one update I kept getting stuck on a green screen every single time I turned on the surfacebook. Performance of this laptop is equal with the performance of a cheap brand laptop. I wish I can return this device and get my money back because it's not worth it.

Stay away from Surface products!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have a Surface Pro that is just over 2 years old. About 15 hours of use on this computer. Now they tell me the motherboard has failed, and it can't be repaired because it is a sealed unit. I paid for upgraded hardware and additional software, and the unit won't even turn on. Best Buy and Microsoft both tell me that I am out of luck because the unit is out of warranty. Offer to give me pennies on the dollar to trade in on a new Surface. Now why in the world would I reinvest in a piece of garbage?

Don't Buy...
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had this laptop on May 2016. After 4 months, the monitor turns to black and white lines. Microsoft store said it most likely motherboard issue, and they have seen this before. So, I was waiting for replacement since it still under Microsoft warranty. I was shocked when they gave me a refurbished laptop. Microsoft said this is their policy... Really Microsoft!! after 4 months only and for the first claim, and this is your policy!!! This laptop does not worse $, save your money.

Run Away, Run Away
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Someone trashed (deleted) my first review.. Hum wonder if they will delete this one. I bought the SP4 prior to an international trip that was going to last past the return period for BB. I left three days after purchase and if I could have would have returned it. What a POJ .. unstable, device errors, BSOD.. Learn my lesson and I thought I knew them all after 20 years in IT... Skip MS hardware ... again
