This is the perfect addition to my Surface Pro. With the limits of one USB on the machine, having the dock is a must for me at home. This plugs into the same slot as your power cord, and everything is transferred through that. You can not only have the four USB ports on the dock, but the USB port on the machine is available as well. I also have an external monitor connected with no issues.

I like having this. I can quickly dock and see the display on a larger monitor, while charging the unit and giving myself more USB ports. I have an older monitor so I had to buy a VGA adapter. Small potatoes. What I have not figured out is how to disable the touchscreen while it is docked so I can lay the Surface down on the desk and not worry about papers and other things causing 'inputs'.

This is a necessary expansion device for people who want to be able to use the SurfacePro as a desktop computer replacement. It expands the number of USB ports and it also provides more power to its USB ports for use with devices which draw their power from the USB port. It's such a vital tool that I feel Microsoft was remiss in not including it in the purchase of the SurfacePro to begin with.

First, I love, love, love my Surface Pro 3. I have a dual monitor set up with a dock both at home and work. My home dock started acting up and I always liked this version of the doc better so I upgraded and it was even on sale. It has no moving parts to get sloppy or go bad. It has more monitor jacks than the old dock and it's actually small enough to pack and take with you if you needed to. Totally recommend it!

This gives extra USB ports with more portability than the docking station I use at home.

Works as adveritised with no issues. All attached accessories work without any issues.

It is very easy to use this with any surface product. Just plug and play!!! It is nice and small.

Needed extra ports to connect a second monitor and other devices. Works great!

I really like what Microsoft did with this dock. Easy to setup up and plenty of ports to plug into.

I bought this together with my Surface Book and it has exactly all the ports I need, but it's kind of unhandy. The box with the ports has a power supply about the same size as the box with the ports itself. So basically you are carrying 2 of the same sized boxes with the cables you tend to plug in. They are both bigger than the standard power adapter that is provided with the Surface Book. I would have preferred 1 box with the power adapter and ports.

Connects dual displays with ease, expands ports for Surface allowing everything to be connected to the dock and only one connector to the Surface. Be careful not to get any dirt on the connector or the port on the Surface. Had a Surface that wouldn’t charge due to a dirty port from being in a case. Perfect desktop replacement solution. Pop the Surface out for mobile use.

I love my dock, but my Microsoft Surface adaptor I was sold to attach my TV or regular Monitor did not work. I purchased another adapter from Belkin & it worked fine. Love the ability to view my screen on the even bigger monitors. The Surface Book comes with a pretty big screen itself though. Really a big fan of the Best Buy Store Employees at the Allen, Texas Best Buy Store on Highway # 75.

I didn't & still don't like the idea that you have to spend more money for an additional piece when they could've created it within the Surface Book. I have multiple monitors so I had to have it. This first one I bought didn't work but Best Buy exchanged it no problem. We don't know if it was due to one of the many glitches in the SB (which they have made great strides in their updates) or if it was the docking station itself. It's working well now.

Hooks up easy. Very easy to move around and doesn’t take up a lot of space.

This is a good product at a good price. The fact that it charges while the surface is connected is a bonus. So many docks do not charge the unit and you have extra cables to keep your laptop charged while at your desk. I have had an issue with one where the firmware needed to be updated and the dock was not working correctly until I did so. Otherwise, all of the docks I have purchased work very well for my business.

Was going to purchase a usb hub with ethernet, but instead decided to purchase the dock instead. It worked flawlessly. It's a larger than I thought, so taking with me on travel may not be an option, so I would say it really is better for what it was designed for as a desk dock. It's just so tempting to use at with the added ports, charging ability, and wired ethernet.

The dock is great in that it seemlessly works with my surface pro and expands USB, video, etc. The connection cable is a little odd as the cable is thick and runs in the direction of the tablet so it gets in the way. Also the dock is detached like a power brick, so finding a good place where it can be accessed but out of the way is difficult. It ends up just sitting in the open on my desk which isn't attractive.

For my birthday I received a Microsoft Surface Dock and as I worked my projects, I found it more and more valuable. I work switching from smartphone to surface pro to laptop to blue tooth earpiece and other devices and found that I was able to dock everything at the same place and recharge without having to leave my workplace. I have yet to connect to an external monitor but am looking forward to that.

Fit well. Plenty of ports. Charges Surface and has video port. Small footprint
