Customers are saying
Customers are enthusiastic about the Surface Dock's ease of use, abundant USB ports, and ability to support multiple monitors. Many appreciate its compact size and compatibility with Surface devices, while also finding the improved connectivity and charging capabilities beneficial. However, some customers find the price to be high and the weight a bit cumbersome. A shorter-than-ideal cable length was also a recurring point of feedback.

Disappointed in Surface Pro Dock and Support
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought a new Surface Pro and also the Surface Dock. Every time I plug my Surface Pro to the Dock, the laptop will crash at various times. Never crashes when I don’t use the Dock. It also will drop the internet connection for no reason- Microsoft support is terrible- can’t get anyone to help. Would not buy this product again. Looking into returning and buy some other product.

Connection issues
||Posted . Owned for 5 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Apparently a lot of people have this problem but the dock constantly disconnects and reconnects to all of my peripherals... Have not found a solution.

Works Great
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was a little concerned after reading some negative reviews, but I am very happy with how the Surface Dock works with my Surface Pro 4. I am running a monitor, printer, keyboard, mouse and an ethernet cable through the dock and have no issues. It is very easy to connect and disconnect the Surface Pro 4 from the dock. It does everything I want it to do.

Works Great for me.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was interested in this v. the Dock for the Surf Pro 3 because it had 2 video outs v. one on the previous dock. This made it so I didn't have to connect directly to the Surface each time to have dual displays. I am using with a Surf Pro 4 (i5, 256G) connected through a MultiView HDMI KVM to a Dell 1920x1080 and LG 2560 x 1440 Monitors. I connect up mini-display port to HDMI and USB, with a hardwired Ethernet. I haven't tested the network through put, but all appears to work as advertised, displays are correctly identified through the unit, Ethernet connects up as it should, and keyboard & mouse work as they should.

Very handy & works with no issues!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If you're planning on using the Surface Pro 3/4 as a desktop often then this dock is useful. I had the previous dock & this is much easier to dock especially in low light environments. Remember to update everything (in settings) to avoid any potential issues. The first time I turned on the SP4, I used this dock at the same time while downloading all the latest updates with no issues. Highly recommended!

Great device if you are on the go.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It is a great device if you need to take your Surface with you and you have external devices such as monitors, keyboards, etc. I use the Surface predominately in two places. I purchased two stations and they have worked out awesome.

Great capabilities but comes with a price
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Just bought a Surface Pro 4 and the docking station at Best Buy. Love the expanded capabilities it offers but it is not something one would carry with them everyday. What is not shown on the pictures is there is a transformer box as well. So from the plug it goes into this transformer that is as big as the dock itself then there is a cord from that that plugs into the actual dock. This product is for use at your main desk where it won't move. I was looking more for a way to consolidate all the individual connectors but in a lightweight format. I'm probably better off getting a small 4 port USB hub and the small RJ-45 adapter instead. My big problem with it is that transformer, aka 2nd box. If MS could get rid of that and just have a simple cord from plug to the dock, this would be a definite 5 stars.

So easy to use multiple monitors
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Well worth the price if you use your surface for both your home office and on the go. I have it connect to two monitors so I can use all three when at the office.

Excellent accessory
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this as an accessory for the Surface Pro 4 i5/256 8GB. I was originally hesitant based on several reviews, but I have learned to read into some of them to determine the knowledge of the user. I found the dock easy to install and attach all of my necessary external devices which include a 24" HP monitor, Seagate 2 bay NAS, Seagate 2TB expansion drive as well as a Lexar SD card reader. Everything works great with the key for the monitor being the use of a Belkin mini display to HDMI cable. The picture on the monitor is amazing compared to the original VGA signal.

Great dock for the Surface Book
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This dock works great and has all the ports you would typically need (of course we always want more USB, but this has sufficient ports for most applications). The dock is very heavy, which I see as a plus because it helps keep the dock from scooting around all over your desk. The single wire connection to the Surface book really simplfies "docking".

Transformers!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This turns your Surface Tablet into a Transformer! If you are needing a portable tablet device, that can also double as a desktop PC when at home then look no further. There are many imitators but the Surface Dock is the only one that you want to use, it is flawless. I have tried several of the cheaper ones and they are all very flawed, just do it right the first time and pick this one up. You will be glad you did!

Same issue as the majority of users
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I dont know how this porduct has 4.5 stars on Best Buy's site and 3.5 on Microsoft. Anyways, I have the same issues as the majority of negative reviews except I couldnt even get one monitor to work with a Belkin miniDP to HDMI cable to a Samsung monitor. I dont understand why Microsoft decided to go with such an ancient technology with the miniDP ports. At this point Microsoft is so behind and their entry level products has the best port/charging scenario in their product line. Microsoft is backwards. Anyways the same should be true of their $200 dock. I mean for $200 and as much as it weighs it should have every port that has ever existed on it. Please Microsoft, build better products. You're almost there!

I like this type of dock...
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review....was never a big fan of large docks that you place the machine into. I like being able to tuck it away and just plug in the connector. Keeps the desk nice and clutter free. I have it working great with 3 display port monitors (one connected to another, 2 connected to dock). Couldn't be happier.

LOVE IT
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have a Surface Pro 3. Having the ability to sit down and plug in right away with a magnetic plug is awesome. Being able to pull the magnetic charger away and hit the road very, very quickly is great. Looking at next purchase being a Surface Book.
