Not only does the USB controller not function correctly, it does not support dual 4k monitors as advertised. I have spent hours and hours with Microsoft technical support and they are unable to help me. I just called one last time, and they said there isn't even an ETA on it being fixed. I will change my review if their engineers can ever get the product's issues resolved. Until then, I would stay FAR away from this device. If I could give "0" stars, I would have done so.

Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this a week ago figuring it would be an upgrade from the surface docking station, along with a new monitor for my home office. I am sad to say that I have a constant screen flickering that started a few days ago. I talked to a few tech friends that said it could be the screen. To test it out I bypassed the dock and went straight to the Minidisplayport on the side of the Surface Pro 3. No flickering. I hope microsoft has an answer or a fix soon or else this is going back. I had high hopes that this would be a great advantage, sadly it was a waste of money.

Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.If you plan on using an external display, good chance it won't work using a dock. It may work with special active adapter cables, but still a crapshoot. Microsoft has failed miserably!!!

Sometimes it charges my laptop, sometimes it doesn't. Sometimes to connects to my second monitor, sometimes it doesn't. Sometimes it reads my USB drive, sometimes it doesn't. If there were any other decent options out there, Microsoft wouldn't make a dime on this product. Especially at this price point, I expected this dock to work as advertised. Sorely disappointed in Microsoft for releasing such a piece of crap product. Would not recommend.
