Customers are saying

Customers are enthusiastic about the Surface Dock's ease of use, abundant USB ports, and ability to support multiple monitors. Many appreciate its compact size and compatibility with Surface devices, while also finding the improved connectivity and charging capabilities beneficial. However, some customers find the price to be high and the weight a bit cumbersome. A shorter-than-ideal cable length was also a recurring point of feedback.

Good but I really miss the orig. Dock Station

I realize the original Dock Station did not do what Microsoft had intended so they replaced it with a 2 part station. I LOVED the one piece unit that held the tablet/computer upright. This new one is functional and does the job well however I was spoiled with the first edition station!

This is my first "non-traditional" dock that plugs in, versus using a proprietary docking port on the laptop. This has just enough ports for me and has a nice small form factor, freeing up needed desk space. I like that it is logo-free and unobtrusive.

I have my monitor, a printer, and track ball receiver all connected to it. It is functioning fine and set-up was just plugging things in. Also have used a USB thumb drive and a DVD hard drive with it and no issues with functionality or set up.

This product would be a great addition to anyone's home office area. You have only a single cord running from the Surface Pro's charging connection to this hub. There are only 2 drawbacks: 1) Can't be used with anything except a Microsoft Surface device (proprietary charging/interface connection) & 2) the cord length from Microsoft Surface Pro to the device hub is a bit short. SOLUTION: Someone may eventually make an extension cable &/or a break-out adaptor...(like all the "iDocks" years ago for Apple devices) but don't hold your breath as Microsoft & Apple both want to tie you in as an ongoing client and don't look to be the interface to the masses outside their customer base. A more likely scenario will be a similar product that will tie in to both the power & USB3 connectors made by a 3rd party (unless there is a patent that prevents this from happening).

It's great to have the extra ports, I use a wireless keyboard and mouse at times along with external drives to carry info with me - I prefer this to "the cloud". I also use a printer so having the extra ports works out great.

Form & Function Surface Pro Keyboard

What I like most about this keyboard is it snaps on and off easily and does not need to be charged like the Zagg bluetooth keyboards. It is quite small but workable. I wish it was in a hard cover because I do worry about stains and long-term durability. But overall a good buy.

I bought this in order to allow more than one monitor and delivered on that requirement perfectly. The little block is heavy, but that's okay. It's not something that would typically be carried around. It's meant to stay in one place.

Perfect accessory for my Surface Laptop. I leave the dock on my desk and when I bring my Surface Laptop in all I have to do is connect the one cable and I'm up and running with all my USB connected devices.

Bought this with my surface pro. It makes turning the small surface into a desktop for home use a snap! Very simple setup and go. Its also very portable to throw in the backpack for your work desktop or anywhere you go. Love it!

    Good, but not perfect

We wanted a docking station so my wife could plug her surface into it and have two other displays, keyboard and mouse all connected immediately, all while charging the device. It does that, but for us had one issue. First, to detect the two additional displays, it wasn't easy. It detected one of them, then it didn't, then it did, and kept alternating. This was not stable. Then we could not turn off Surface's display at one point if we wanted to. Not a big deal, but probably related to the above issue. As such, we had enough of "reconfiguring" and decided to return it. However, if you're going to use it with just one additional monitor, it will probably not have an issue. Good docking solution otherwise.

I really think this is a great keyboard for the Surface Pro. I love the sleek and slim design. The keys feel pretty good, with some feedback when used. The material on the bottom works well on most surfaces to keep from sliding.

At this point, I only have a monitor and an Ethernet cable attached. I hope to add speakers to it soon. My only issue is using gestures to switch between programs on the monitor. It's probably user error, if I was to guess.

I bought this to use as a desktop hub for connecting external monitors and charging the computer at the same time. it is built very well and has a grippy material on the bottom to keep it in place on my desk. Works well with my setup.

For a little dock station this device is very heavy and it power adapter is also as big as the dock station, if you don't mind the weight and the fact that you need to buy an adapter to be able to use it with a display is good for you.

This is a must have if your looking to use the surface pro as a desktop computer. The connection is a quick clip held by magnets and won't easily come off on accident. I have only one monitor but it can do two at the same time

Needed this for my surface. Works as advertised. I wish that the cable from the device to laptop was longer so I could bury it in my desk and not have it sit in my desk. Cable is proprietary and terminated at bot ends.
