This is the only dock you should buy for your surface... No configuration is needed. Just plug it in and add all your devices. It will work with out having to download extra software, or deal with buggy drivers that non Microsoft branded docks have when used with a Surface. They also Look great on your desk too! I do have to give this 4 stars instead of 5 because of the Video inputs. They are mini display ports and 90% of the monitors out there do not have these. So you have to Buy adapters for the dock. Microsoft does make adapters designed to be used with the surface/Surface Dock and Best Buy also Sells them These are the best adapters to use. Beyond that its a great Dock, looks great, works great, just don't expect to hook it right up without the available cables/adapters for your monitors right out of the box.

This product made my life so much easier. With it I have connected 2 HDMI monitors to my Surface Book 2 (3 screens total), a USB keyboard/mouse, surround speakers and a flash drive all without using any of my ports that are on the Surface Book. This item replaces the charging cord. The only downfall is that when I disconnect my Surface Book, it forgets my USB keyboard/mouse and I have to reconnect each time.

When I first hooked it up, it was unusable due to flickering issues. But after firmware upgrade, it works perfectly! I have it hooked up to a 34" widescreen Ultra High Def monitor through display port. I also have ethernet, external speakers and various USB devices connected. I set the display settings once and now everything works perfectly. When I plug it in to my Surface Pro 4, screen on the Surface is off and my widescreen is on and at correct resolution. When I unplug the Surface, the Surface screen goes on and resolution changes to accommodate the Surface screen resolution. I am going to get another for the office so I can have a single computer for office, home and travel. One star off for the initial problems, but otherwise perfect.

Great dock for home office or even on the go (though it’s a bit bulky for traveling light). Having the ability to plug more than one USB into the Surface is nice, that was its one down fall.

I read some negative reviews so I was skeptical but it worked great! I use this to connect my Surface Pro 4 to my work desktop using 2 monitors. I plug in the monitors, mouse, and keyboard and it's just like being there.

Had to do a presentation and did not want to bring all the power cords and network adapters for it, I plugged my Surface Pro into the dock and and only had to bring my Ethernet and HDMI cables and was off and running.

If you are doing more with the Surface than using it as your portable, the dock is a great compliment. While it is not perfect, it does almost everything right. My dock gets coupled with a Microsoft Surface Pro 4 (256GB HD 8GB RAM Intel i7) with pen and type cover. Expansion - 4 USB ports, 2 Display ports, 3.5mm audio, & LAN. You can easily take this highly portable and make it the brain for a full desktop workstation.

This dock is a must have for the office if you own a Surface Book product. The ports it gives you are great. I only give it 4 out of 5 because it really could use another display port type other than mini-DisplayPort.

Easy to hook up to my Surface - allows me to expand the use of it also. All outlets are fast and seem like they are on the surface itself. I really like the looks of the unit and totally functional.

Works as intended, though there are cheaper options if you're not about matching everything within their ecosystem. Fun fact, Bill Gates was seen using an Anker dock for his Surface Pro at an event.

Compared to the older dock that was used with the Surface Pro 3, this new version is much better. It has all the ports I need with only one cable that connects the dock to the Surface Pro 3/4.

I have been looking at the new dock since it came out. I was originally thinking about the previous version but like this one since it plugs into the power port and still leaves the ports on the surface available.

Easy to setup and the dock is sturdy enough it is difficult to move around in my desk. I have dual displays, running with my surface and this dock! Super easy to use and would recommend.

I was skeptical after having read mixed reviews about the dock but it works great. I am now running two 24 inch monitors side by side with the surface laptop as the third screen.

This Docking Station works outstanding, Seamless docking. Very good Design, Looks and Feels like it is built to last. I have two, one for the office and the other one for the "Home" office. I am very pleased.

This dock conveniently adds ports to my Surface Laptop 2. I use it whenever I am at my desk. However, there seems to be some limitation to the resolution of the external monitor that you can use with it.

This docking station is necessary for all Surface users if you need to work on multiple screens. Let's face it - multiple screens is a norm nowadays and it is more convenient to work which brings out the productivity. Moreover, it also extends the number of USB ports and wired network (Gigabit) connectivity. Setting up is straight forward and no software to install - works straight out of the box.

This dock makes my Surface Pro 4 function as a stand-alone PC. I can use additional USB ports, but beware of the fact the DisplayPort (DP) is the only video option provided. I had to purchase a DP to DVI converter the next day.

Provides for video display, USB ports. Audio port, power supply, etc. Provides enough connections to do desktop jobs. Solid construction and cables. I use it often and like it

I was looking to connect 2 monitors, camera, and some other items I have. It's was extremely easy to set up I just wish the power cord to the Surface was slightly longer. Overall I'm happy it's just pricey for what it is.
