It's hard to give a bad review for something that serves a practical function. It's a solid build and gives me the extra ports I need, although, I wish it had an HDMI port. I liked the past Surface Dock's design better since this is like a brick, but it's compact. All in all, it's fine for what you'll need. Most things are wireless these days, so this will give you ports for the few legacy items you probably still have.

I love this all in one docking station. I like that you have the liability of having four extra USB ports, an cat5 / LAN connection, a headphone jack, & capability of charging your tablet. If you like dual monitors just simply purchase a mini DV cable. This is a great piece of hardware that takes up little to no room. Very simple to connect.

The Surface Dock is very simple to use. I just wish that it had more USB / USB-C port. Connected to a Surface Pro 4, I practically used up all the ports available in the dock -- two external monitors, ethernet (to take full advantage of my Comcast 200 Mbps download speed), audio, a scanner, an external drive for back-up, a mouse, and a numeric keypad. The dock has two mini DisplayPorts. I had to purchase two adapters in order to use my older monitors which have VGA connections only. I like the fact that the dock supplies power to my Surface Pro. My only complaint is that it is quite expensive. I replaced my Surface Pro 4 recently (due to the shaking screen problem) with a Surface Pro 7, and continue to use the Surface Dock.

I really like this dock! It will tuck away on your desk out of sight yet offers Ethernet, audio out, 2 miniDP's & 4 USB3 ports. The Surface Link connector from the dock to your Surface 3, 4 or Surface Book is very flexible so say goodbye to stiff, hard to manage cords that usually require duct tape to tame. If you have a Surface Pro 3 or 4, or the Surface Book, this is the dock!!

this dock for my surface pro 3 is soooo much easier than the old one where you had to take off the protective case to slide it in. seamlessly allows the printer and USB mouse to stay connected and used at the same time. also allows two other screens to be utilized to make quick work of spreadsheets.

I like simple. I don't want to work on my stuff when I get off work. I put the Surface on a stand, attach this one connector, and it's done. Charging and everything. It comes with it's own charger, so you have a spare now. In summary, it's just easy and it works. It's not the cheapest solution but it's probably the most elegant.

I love my surface 4 and this docking station is a must have. Because it connects everything with the charging cable, you won't need to give up the one and only USB port. It is a bit pricey but Best buy had a great offer on it. I really the ease in which I can connect 2 monitors, printer/scanner, keyboard, and mouse with this station. Must have

The dock is for sure a benefit to enable quick connect / disconnect while using the Surface as an expanded desktop. My only real criticism is the connection cable length to the surface. Basically you have several wires splayed about your desktop for power, monitors, connection to the surface, USB items. If the cable were aprox 10 inch longer then the dock and all cabling from accessories could be hidden.

The docking station is working very well and my only complaint is that it is much heavier than I anticipated and the distance between the power brick and the docking station isn't quite long enough to keep the former on the floor and the latter on the desk. Otherwise, it has performed well and is a great addition to my Surface Pro and Surface Go.

Needed a docking station for the surface pro. This was not on sale but BB matched the sale price from Amazon. Needed to update the firmware first. Once that completed it works great. Having the ability to connect to two monitors and also a couple of usb drives at the same time really is a dream comes true.

Helps keep the desk less cluttered and provides power, usb, and monitor hookups with a single plug to the laptop. Sometimes opening or closing the laptop results in odd resizing of the external monitor but it’s nothing too dramatic. Just requires occasional fiddling with screen resolution. A little pricy but probably in line with any oem dock.

Upgraded my 1st gen Surface Pro to a 6th gen. Ports are limited but this dock solves that. I drive 2 monitors and the Pro 6 at once, Wired Earbuds, USB drive and mouse plus recharge and power the Pro 6 all from one easy to connect cable. That meets my needs so far so good. btw It was plug and play.

I purchased the docking station so that I could attach my surface to 2 larger monitors. It is extremely easy to dock and un-dock. This allows me to work from larger screens when I am sitting at my desk and then simply unplug the charger from the side of the computer to turn in back into a laptop/tablet.

This dock is exactly what I needed for home use. Having USB ports on both sides it great. I also have a second monitor hooked up, which works like a champ. I also like the fact that this does not take up the USB port on the Surface itself. Everything is connected through the charging port.

This is a great way to connect multiple USB devices to your Surface. I think it is a necessity. I have a 27" monitor, wireless keyboard & mouse and an Ethernet cable. (With open USB ports available) Best part is there is one cable to disconnect and then your Surface becomes portable again. Great solution.

I love the dock since it adds 4 more USB ports without sacrificing the port on the Surface! Plus the fact that it charges the device too... I just keep the AC adapter that came with the Surface in my bag. Best Buy offered had it for a great price online! Couldn't be happier

I was going to purchase another charger cord and keep doing what I was doing, but not, I have my external monitor and stack of HDs (USB drives) all connected with the power supply. This is a MUST HAVE for any Surface 4 Pro user that connects his tablet to an external monitor or drives. LOVE IT...LOVE IT!!!

I was thinking why would I need this - well first reason is I don't have to keep pulling out the plug from my bag. I just keep this sitting on my desk and when I need my laptop charged I just simply attach. You can also hook up speakers and other peripherals with the ports on the dock.

I thought I could save a buck by just getting any old usb dock but it’s not the same thing. The surface dock is powered so you can plug anything in without it having an issue drawing power...and it’s sooo easy to plug in when you sit at your desk. HUGE difference, and worth every penny

If you need a second charger this is a good option. I leave this one at home where I can plug in multiple USB devices and ethernet cable. There are three reasons for the 4-star rating: 1. It is heavy 2. The cable that connects to Surface is very short 3. There are no HDMI or display ports on the giant brick
