Customers are saying

Customers are enthusiastic about the Surface Dock's ease of use, abundant USB ports, and ability to support multiple monitors. Many appreciate its compact size and compatibility with Surface devices, while also finding the improved connectivity and charging capabilities beneficial. However, some customers find the price to be high and the weight a bit cumbersome. A shorter-than-ideal cable length was also a recurring point of feedback.

Smaller but heavier than the older docking station

Got an opened box item - Surface Dock station for my new surface pro (2017 model). The condition is excellent so don't be afraid of buying such items. As of the docking station itself it's not as fancy as the switching-locking one for my old Surface 3 pro model. Though, it's a smaller but a heavier box offers the required connections.

I have always had a docking station for my work laptop however when I first purchased this Microsoft Surface Pro I didn't purchase the dock. i really missed the ability to dock it. I'm so happy now that I have the dock and makes the product work that much better for me. Felt it was a fair price to spend.

The dock is essential to connect to a workstation with ease. I added one 25" monitor, speakers, wireless mouse and keyboard. This puts the cherry on top of the surface book! I have a wireless printer connected to the surface as well. I'll be adding a second monitor soon.

I bought it to ease downloading picture files from my camera with a card reader, which would not work directly in my Surface Pro 4. I also use it to connect to a TV and monitor. Works fine. Given a choice, I would prefer the power cord be on the opposite side, as it is a little unwieldy to have it on the same side as the majority of ports.

My only complaint about this dock is it's lack of consistency. Sometimes I plug in my Surface and both of my external monitors work and sometimes it doesn't. I do like the fact that it charges my Surface, so that is a plus because I didn't need to purchase a travel power supply.

I like this docking station, but it cycles monitor sleep/awake which is annoying. Updated firmware, but problem persists. Based on the recommendation from the Microsoft store, I returned the item for another new one, but I'm having the same issue. Seems this might be a known issue that is yet to be resolved.

I tried getting away with a less expensive port option and that is no good!! This is a much better option because it means I only need to plug one thing into my surface pro and not 2 or more. This adapter also has power fed to it which helps with many of the items I was trying to plug in.

This docking station makes a huge difference in ease of attaching to my desktop space. Extra usb power for phones, printer, and Bluetooth keyboard/mouse. The only issue I've run into is that when I take it on the road, some airport security scanners are perturbed at its density and weight so I have to re-screen.

This is excellent to let you convert your Surface Pro into a device to use at your desk with larger monitors and keyboard. Must buy a Microsoft mini DisplayPort adapter to either VGA or HDMI in order to attach an external monitor. Gave it 4 stars because if that adapter was included it would be nice.

I was using the Surface 3 dock retrofitted for the Surface 4 and having lots of issues with multiple displays. Haven't had a display issue since the switch. The only annoyance is that it's not the traditional dock, you plug in through the power cord, which means your must use the kickstand. I am getting used to it, so not a big deal.

I like this dock a lot. I had the surface dock for the Surface 3 and liked it too. The biggest difference is that this one only connects by the cord and doesn't rest on a physical dock, you hace to use your stand all the time. It works really well and has a great selections of ports and connections

I needed an extra charger for when my device is at home. I decided to get the dock, and glad that I did. I am able to leave my external hard drive attached to it and transfer my files easily back and forth. I have recently purchased a monitor and now use my surface as a desktop workstation.

If you are planning on using a Surface for work on a daily basis, the dock is well worth your money. I have it connected to my printer, network, keyboard, mouse and 2 monitors. I walk into my office fcru day plug the dock into my surface and boom everything is connected. Highly recommend it.
