This is easy to setup and easy to connect. You will need mini DP cables or adapters since there is no HDMI or VGA. Connected to Surface without any issues.

Use this with my surface pro. Easily unplug from doc and you ready to go. No more unplugging 5 different items to throw my PC in a back and hit the road. Very helpful product

This dock is a major improvement. The addition of USB ports and video ports is great. Add to this greater portability in this less cumbersome design is also a plus.

The Surface Dock by Microsoft is awesome! I love it! It's heavy and has a rubber bottom so that it doesn't move around on your desk if you're plugging things into the front USB ports, and I just have all the connectors set up in the back. The magnetic Surface Connector works like a charm, and it's very handy to be able to have just one connector that powers and connects the Surface to my two displays, sound system, gigabit ethernet, and external hard drives and other USB peripherals. I would highly recommend this to someone that's looking to have a great desktop experience with just a Surface Pro or Surface Book.

This is a really great accessory to get for the Surface Pro. It expands your video to two monitors and multiple USB ports. Indispensable accessory.

Excellent product. Provides a considerable amount of extra USB ports, Ethernet cable, and also charges your Surface. Somewhat bulky, but I leave it on my desk.

This dock is connected to a Surface Pro 4 i7, 27" HD monitor, computer speakers, camera, hard drive, ethernet, and conferencing camera. It has dramatically reduced the amount of running wires and improved the clean look of my work space. Every one of my peripherals function properly. I have found only 1 issue, but I'm not sure if it's related to the dock or not; when the Surface Pro is on and then connected with the dock to a monitor, the icons are re-sized incorrectly (very large). The only remedy so far has been to connect the dock while the computer is off or simply restarting the computer after connecting. It's a good product, but you're paying a premium for its functions.

Using the dock, allows for single point connection of my monitor, Ethernet, iPhone, and wireless mouse at work. It saves time and effort connecting multiple devices.

With my SP4, I had previously used a SP3 docking station, the kind that the tablet slides into and latches on both sides. I was reluctant to try this different type of docking station, but I finally did and have been won over. It's so much easier to use than the SP3 type and, so far, works perfectly. It's so easy to just unplug, just like unplugging the power adapter, so I'm now constantly connecting and disconnecting the SP4 to this docking station. It's made things much more mobile than when I had to unlatch from the older style docking station. Highly recommend!

The most convenient way to connect to a wireless keyboard+mouse, monitor and gigabit internet. Just plug the device into the 'power' socket and you are done.

Product is great for on the go businesses where multiple office locations are used. Quick access and easy to use, just need multiple monitors and go.

I have a 2+ year old Surface Pro 3. I travel heavily, and in and out of client offices presenting/teaching, and so it is docked and undocked constantly. The USB port is getting loose and the mini-display port is starting to get real flaky. so I bought one of these so at least at home or at the office, I can get a solid connection to external monitors and peripherals. My reason for 4 instead of 5 stars is that this is quite a brick! Between the cord, the power supply "brick" itself, and then the actual adapter, its a lot of weight. Had hoped to be able to use it as aportable solution but a bit too heavy for that.

Was debating on this or the larger unit. Decided on this one because of its size and ability to place it on the monitor stand. Works perfectly on the Surface Pro 2.

Needs the dock so that I could make my surface pro work just like it does at the office. Love the connectivity and ease with it.

The main reason for this purchase was to connect my Surface to an Ethernet cable while at work. I know. WiFi should be like air now but it isn't. It definitely comes in handy with the mini DisplayPort and multiple USB ports. The only downside is it doesn't come with a mini DisplayPort cable. I get it. There are many types to choose from so one being provided with this Dock may or may not be beneficial. The cables are not expensive. The power cord on either end is long enough to set the Dock where you please. Great purchase and I've had no issues with it.

Works great and easy to set up. Have been using for a few weeks now and only have a couple minor issues. They should've positioned the wire off the magnetic plug a different direction then pointing up. It would keep the cord closer to the desk. Second, any slight movement and the plug loses enough contact causing the secondary screens to shut off for a second and power back up the displays. It does make it extremely easy to have 2 external screens along with your surface screen giving you 3 fully usable screens. Makes things a lot easier to multi-task.

We bought it for fun but with its small size and the functionality i actually made it to my home computer and with the ease i can use it as my tablet and also my desktop

Nice product. Makes hooking everything up much simpler. One plug for the surface and everything plugs into the dock. Highly recommend.

Microsoft Surface Pro 4 docking station worked perfectly. I downloaded software from Microsoft that flashed the bios on the DS to the latest version and this went without issue. I have heard that these DS's have issues with the Mini DisplayPort to DVI so if you need this function please research it. I am using older monitors that have the standard VGA port and these worked flawlessly with several different brands of Mini DisplayPort to VGA adapters I have. Other then that, the unit works great and I am using it with 2 extra monitors without issue.

I needed a dock for my new surface at my house. This was exactly what I needed. Hooked up the cords and it worked perfectly!
